A Fellowship Beyond Borders / A Soulful Journey / Rotary without Borders
My recent journey through Lahore, Islamabad, and Karachi was far more than an official visit – it was a profound awakening of the spirit. Though the trip demanded intense professional focus, the moments I shared with my Rotary family transcended the "dense concentration" of work, filling my heart with an overflowing warmth that I struggle to put into words.

The Heartbeat of Service
The love, generosity, and unwavering hospitality extended by the FBR community and my fellow Rotarians was nothing short of extraordinary. Our bond was not merely social; it was forged in the fire of our shared motto, Service Above Self, and ignited by the vision to Serve to Change Lives.
During a deeply moving dinner hosted by my CM Governor Saifullah Ejaz Chouhdury and the gracious PDFL Sidrah, I had the privilege of discussing the future of our movement with RIPSA PDG Pubudu De Zoysa, PDG Mansur Sheikh, PP Rizwan Ahmed, PP Saeed Anjum Khokhar and other dedicated leaders. To hear of their tireless efforts to restore the district status and reclaim the long-lost heritage of Rotary was truly inspiring. It served as a powerful reminder that true fellowship knows no boundaries, no titles, and no borders; it thrives wherever there are open hearts and a commitment to mutual respect.

Moments of Joy and Connection
The trip was punctuated by moments of pure camaraderie:
• In Islamabad: I found peace and exhilaration on the greens, enjoying a wonderful round of golf with Shahzad Bhai and friends at one of the subcontinent's most magnificent courses.
• In Karachi: My CM Governor Aftab Imam, a distinguished senior Civil Servant, welcomed me with a level of cordiality that felt like a warm embrace.

A Spiritual Home-Coming
Our visit to the Tomb of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the Jinnah Museum was a lesson in history, but the visit to PDG Aftab Imam Bhai’s residence was a lesson in the soul. Bhabi welcomed us not as guests, but as cherished family members.
I stood spellbound, witnessing how one can achieve the highest level of spirituality while balancing the heavy demands of government service and social life. The pinnacle of this emotional journey was being granted a glimpse of the Mubarak hair of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), preserved in a glass case within Aftab Bhai’s home. MashaAllah – the experience left us overwhelmed with emotion and deepened my profound reverence for Aftab Bhai.

A Debt of Gratitude
To every Rotarian in Pakistan who shared a meal, joined me on the golf course, or offered a hand in fellowship: Thank you. You have shown me the very best of what our global Rotary family can be. অদম্য মনোবল ও গৌরবের এক অভূতপূর্ব কীর্তি গড়লেন চট্টগ্রাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের প্রাক্তন ছাত্র মুনীর !

গর্ব ও গভীর শ্রদ্ধায় অভিনন্দন ও ধন্যবাদ জানাই চট্টগ্রাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় ক্লাব ঢাকার সদস্য প্রিয় ছোট ভাই মুনীরকে এক ঐতিহাসিক মাইলফলক অর্জন করে আমাদের জন্য অসাধারণ সম্মান বয়ে আনার জন্য ।
এই মুহূর্তে আমরা অত্যন্ত আনন্দিত এবং উচ্ছ্বসিত যে, আমাদের চট্টগ্রাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের এক কৃতি শিক্ষার্থী অবিশ্বাস্য কৃতিত্ব সম্পন্ন করেছেন। আজ ২০ ডিসেম্বর ২০২৫ তিনি ১০০ কিলোমিটার ম্যারাথন সাঁতার( পাটুরিয়া ঘাট থেকে চাঁদপুর পর্যন্ত) সম্পন্ন করে বাংলাদেশে ম্যারাথন সাঁতারে সর্বোচ্চ রেকর্ড স্থাপন করেছেন এবং ম‍্যরাথন আয়োজন করার সৌভাগ্য হয়েছে চট্টগ্রাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় এক্স স্টুডেন্টস ক্লাব ঢাকার!

এটি কেবল একটি ক্রীড়া অর্জন নয়; এটি মানুষের অদম্য সক্ষমতা, অপরাজেয় মনোবল এবং সেই সাথে অপ্রতিরোধ্য সাফল্য সাধনার এক চূড়ান্ত নিদর্শন ! প্রমত্তা পদ্মায় ১০০ কিলোমিটার সাঁতারে জয়ী হওয়া মানে প্রবল স্রোত, ক্লান্তি এবং নিঃসঙ্গতার বিরুদ্ধে এক যুদ্ধে বিজয়ী হওয়া, শুধুমাত্র দৃঢ়সংকল্প ও কঠোর প্রশিক্ষণকে হাতিয়ার করে।
এই অতিমানবিক প্রচেষ্টার মাধ্যমে, তিনি আমাদের বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের উত্তরাধিকারকে শিক্ষাক্ষেত্রের বাইরে নিয়ে গিয়ে জাতীয় ক্রীড়া মহিমার মঞ্চে প্রতিষ্ঠিত করেছেন। এই রেকর্ড একটি মশালের মতো – যা বর্তমান শিক্ষার্থী, প্রাক্তন এবং দেশজুড়ে উদীয়মান ক্রীড়াবিদদের আরও বড় স্বপ্ন দেখতে, আরও কঠোর পরিশ্রম করতে এবং সম্ভাবনার সীমানা নতুন করে সংজ্ঞায়িত করতে অনুপ্রাণিত করবে।

ক্লাবের সভাপতি হিসেবে, আমি আমাদের নির্বাহী কমিটি, সাঁতার আয়োজক কমিটির পক্ষ থেকে আন্তরিক অভিনন্দন ও গভীর শ্রদ্ধা জানাচ্ছি। এই অর্জনের প্রতিধ্বনি আমাদের বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় সংশ্লিষ্ট প্রতিটি করিডরে অনুরণিত হচ্ছে ! সকলেই অনুপ্রাণিত হচ্ছে নব উদ্যমে ।

আমরা বিশ্বাস করি, মুনীরের এই নদী যাত্রার গল্প থেকে অনেকেই অনুপ্রেরণা নিতে পারবেন!

আবারও, এই কিংবদন্তি অর্জনের জন্য মুনীরকে অশেষ ধন্যবাদ ও কৃতজ্ঞতা জানাই ; আমাদেরকে তথা সকল ক্লাব সদস্যদেরকে মহান বিজয়ের মাসে এমন অসাধারণ উপহার দিয়ে গর্বিত করার জন্য ।
