They claim their actions are in self-defense, but in reality, it's a blatant act of violence and genocide, with no justification.

Aren’t they the real terrorists?

On Monday, 7th October 2024, students from North South University, Independent University Bangladesh, and American International University Bangladesh came together in a powerful display of unity, compassion, and strength during the "Solidarity March for Gaza, Syria, and Lebanon: Against Genocide and Brutality." With banners raised and voices united, we rallied around the campuses of NSU and IUB, calling for an end to the ongoing atrocities and demanding justice for innocent lives lost to violence and oppression.

The march, co-hosted by NSU Voices for Justice, IUB Voices Against Oppression (VAO), and Aware Students of AIUB, brought together students from different walks of life in a peaceful demonstration of solidarity. Together, we amplified the voices of those silenced by war and occupation, and stood firm in our belief that oppression anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.

Our chants included:
"Bangladesh to Palestine, Occupation is a Crime"
"Biden, Blinken, you can't hide, US funds a Genocide"

Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to making this event a success. Your energy and passion are a testament to the power of collective action. Check out the pictures and videos below to witness the incredible spirit of unity that filled the streets.

Together, we can make a difference. Together, we stand for justice.

Some general directions for today's event:

1. Please bring your student ID cards with you.

2. This is a general program against the genocide being committed by israel. Every person, regardless of race, religion or political views are welcome.

3. Please bring flags of the countries attacked in the war (i.e Palestine, Lebanon, Syria and Yemen).

4. Every participant is welcome to share a short message with everyone else, please ask for the mic if you wish to speak, but it must not contain any slogan of any political party. This is a general event.

5. We must remain peaceful and must not cause any kind of commotion. Be respectful towards all other participants. It makes no sense for us to call for peace and not be peaceful ourselves.
