The Bangladesh Ship Recycling Board (BSRB), in collaboration with the International Labour Organization (ILO) and GIZ, has successfully completed today’s Roundtable on the Employment Injury Scheme (EIS) for Bangladesh’s Ship Recycling Industry.

The session brought together key national and international stakeholders to align on the introduction of an Employment Injury Scheme that prioritizes worker safety, fair compensation, and social protection, while supporting the sector’s transition toward higher safety and environmental standards under the Hong Kong Convention (2025).

A shared commitment emerged: protecting workers is not optional; it is foundational to sustainable industry growth.
Grateful to all participants for their insights, engagement, and collective resolve to move forward—together.

Welcoming New Year 2026 with hope, policy vision & shared commitment.
This morning at 10:00 AM, officials of the Ministry of Industries gathered in the Conference Room for a warm New Year meet-up — reflecting on progress, future priorities, and Bangladesh’s industrial transformation ahead.

The session was chaired by Md. Obaidur Rahman, Secretary, Ministry of Industries (MoInd).
From industry, ship recycling, sustainability, to innovation — the conversation was rooted in rebuilding stronger, working smarter, and stepping into 2026 with courage. The room felt like a promise — that even when storms shake us, Bangladesh stands, plans, and rises again.

BSRB extends heartfelt wishes for a productive & progressive 2026.
Let this be the year where greener yards, safer work practices, global compliance & export-focused growth become our collective reality.

New year, new vision — but the commitment remains the same.
A stronger Bangladesh in ship recycling, for the world to witness.
