On Shaheed Day and International Mother Language Day, this historic 21st of February, we remember our language heroes in profound respect to Salam, Barkat, Rafiq, Jabbar, and the countless unnamed brave sons of Bangladesh who embraced martyrdom for the sake of their mother tongue.

The language movement that began in 1948 was not merely a protest - it was a sacred awakening. That struggle, that sacrifice, lit the path toward our eventual independence. The extraordinary example set by the Bengali people in 1952 - laying down their lives to defend their language - ignited a courage that later inspired an entire nation to rise in 1971 and fight in the Liberation War.

The sacrifice of 1952 astonished the world. Through dedicated diplomatic efforts of Awami League government, our Shaheed Day earned global recognition as International Mother Language Day - a testament to the enduring power of that sacrifice.

The significance of 21st February in the life of the Bengali nation will continue to inspire courage for centuries. The world will remember the story of Bengali bravery - written not in ink, but in blood.

On this 21st February, let our pledge be one of unity.
May our collective efforts continue - overcoming all barriers - to build a secular, inclusive Bangladesh.

ক্যালেন্ডারের পাতা ওল্টায়...
আর ফিরে আসে এক জাতির গভীরতম ক্ষত।

আগস্ট।
এটি শুধু একটি মাস নয়—
একটি ক্ষতচিহ্ন, যা মুছে না।
এক ছায়া, যা ছেয়ে যায় প্রতিটি ঘর, প্রতিটি পতাকা, প্রতিটি হৃদয়কে নাড়া দেয়।

এই মাসে আমরা হারিয়েছি শুধুই একজন মানুষকে নয়—
আমরা হারিয়েছি একজন পিতাকে।
আমরা হারিয়েছি জাতির পিতা বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমানকে,
আর তাঁর সঙ্গেই আমরা হারিয়েছি একটি গণতান্ত্রিক, স্বাধীন, ন্যায়ভিত্তিক বাংলাদেশ।

যে কণ্ঠ ছিল স্বাধীনতার বজ্রধ্বনি,
তা নীরব করা হয় নির্মমভাবে।
স্বাধীনতার প্রতিষ্ঠাতাকে—
আমাদের কাছ থেকে ছিনিয়ে নেওয়া হয়…
বিশ্বাসঘাতকতায়, কাপুরুষতায়, গুলির আঘাতে — শুধু তাঁর দেহই বিদীর্ণ হয় নি,
বরং জাতির আত্মাও হয়েছিল আক্রান্ত।

আজ, এত বছর পর, আমরা প্রশ্ন করি—
তাঁকে হারিয়ে আমরা কী পেয়েছি?
তাঁর অনুপস্থিতিতে আমরা কীকে উঠতে দিয়েছি?

এই আগস্টে, আমাদের শোক নিঃশব্দ হয়ে থাকবে না।
আমাদের শোক হবে দীপ্ত শপথ—
একেকটি অঙ্গীকার।

আমরা ফিরিয়ে আনব সেই গৌরব, যে স্বপ্ন তিনি আমাদের জন্য দেখেছিলেন।
আমরা পুনরুদ্ধার করব সেই গণতন্ত্র, যা তিনি রক্ত দিয়ে গড়ে তুলেছিলেন।
আমরা বিশ্বাসঘাতকদের হাতে ইতিহাসকে বিকৃত হতে দেব না।

তাই আমরা কালো প্রোফাইল ধারণ করি,
পরাজয়ের প্রতীক হিসেবে নয়—
প্রতিরোধের চিহ্ন হিসেবে।

আপনার প্রোফাইল পিকচার কালো করুন।
আপনার আওয়াজ তুলুন।
শোকে সংহতি প্রকাশ করুন,
আর ন্যায়ের জন্য নিয়ে জেগে উঠুন।

কারণ আমাদের শোক কোনো দুর্বলতা নয়—এটাই আমাদের শক্তি।

আগস্টের শোক হোক আমাদের শক্তি।
