Today marks 105 years since the Tulsa Race Massacre, one of the deadliest acts of racial violence in American history.
On May 31, 1921, a white supremacist mob destroyed the thriving District in , Oklahoma, a prosperous Black community known as Black Wall Street. Hundreds of Black residents were murdered, families were displaced, and homes, businesses, and generations of wealth were burned to the ground.
Now more than a century later, we remember the lives lost, honor the resilience of the survivors and descendants, and refuse to allow this history to be erased or forgotten. As attacks rooted in hate and extremism continue to threaten our communities, the legacy of Tulsa reminds us why the fight for truth, justice, equity, and racial progress must continue.

Today marks six years since was murdered by Derek Chauvin, a horrific act of violence that was captured on video and sparked one of the largest racial justice movements in modern history.
Millions of people took to the streets in the middle of a pandemic to demand accountability, justice, and systemic change. Communities, corporations, and elected leaders made promises to confront racism and build a more equitable future. Six years later, many of those promises remain unfinished. In this moment of growing attacks on diversity, voting rights, economic opportunity, and racial equity, the fight is far from over.
We must ensure that the racial reckoning of 2020 is not be a moment but a movement by continuing to:
โ๐ฝ Demand diversity, equity, and inclusion
โ๐พ Confront violent policing to make way for true public safety
โ๐ฟ Create economic opportunities for disadvantaged communities
George Floyd's life, legacy, and memory mattered then, and they matter today. We hold his family and loved ones especially close on this somber anniversary.

On Memorial Day, we remember all who died in service to this nation and shine a light on Black soldiers, who fought for our collective freedom even when they were often denied their own. The Black soldiers who served with honor, even as their government refused to grant them full civil rights. The Black soldiers who sacrificed greatly even as they faced racial injustice at home.
Their fight was not only on the battlefield but for dignity, recognition, and the promise of freedom.
This , we honor their legacy, particularly as the United States gets ready to celebrate its 250th anniversary. Black Americans have fought in every major war in this country and deserve the highest level of respect, dignity, and honor.
