Bhuapur

Jamuna is the main river of the upazila. The Bhuapur thana, now an upazila, was established in 1974. The freedom fighters later burnt the ship.

Bhuapur Upazila (tangail district) with an area of 225.2 sq km, is bounded by Gopalpur and Sarishabari upazilas on the north, Kalihati upazila on the south, Kalihati, Ghatail and Gopalpur upazilas on the east and Jamuna river and Sirajganj sadar on the west.
