Gesarling Gewog Administration

A consultation meeting on the implementation of the Climate‑Resilient Spring Water Source Revival Intervention Project was held today in Gesarling Gewog, funded by UNICEF in partnership with the Department of Water, Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources (MoENR). Around 100+ water users from Phuensumgang and Tash*thang chiwog, as well as Upper Gozhi, attended the meeting, including representatives who are also direct water users of the spring source alongside representatives from BPC, Forest Division, and Dagapela Hospital to discuss the project’s design and field‑level implementation, with the aim of reviving drying spring sources, improving drinking‑water security, and strengthening climate resilience in the gewog.

Mission accomplished! 26 enthusiastic learners (10 females & 16 males) completed the 8-day Digital Training at Gesarling Gewog today. Supported by GovTech funding and delivered by Thimphu’s iBEST Institute, this program equips our community for the digital age.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the business community of Gesarling, Mr. Ugyen, and Mr. Namgay Wangchuk (Teacher, Gesarling School) for their generous provision of refreshments during the construction of the footpath at Gangjab Ney.

We also commend the Gesarling Tshogpa (Mr. Tenzin Wangchuk) for their proactive initiatives and effective coordination of the works, and express appreciation to the Dagana Dzongkhag Administration for their vital funding support, ensuring successful community progress.

In observation of World Water Day, Gewog Administration with the local community united to clean and restore our streams. This collective effort reflects our shared responsibility to protect water resources and preserve the beauty of our environment.

Inauguration of Dorona Gewog Dzongkhag Road

The Honourable Dasho Dzongda of Dagana Dzongkhag presided over the inauguration of the Dorona Gewog Dzongkhag Road. Dignitaries present included Dasho MP (National Assembly), Dasho MP (National Council), Dagana Dzongkhag Thrizin, Gups of Dorona and Gesarling Gewogs, the contractor, and field staff of DoST. This long-awaited road, which desperately needed maintenance and realignment, is now started. It will greatly benefit commuters and the community.

Today, Gesarling Gewog Administration and our wonderful community bid a final see-off to Lam Wangda, our dedicated Gewog Lama who served us with devotion for 6 incredible years. As he embarks on his new journey to Gophu Goenpa, we carry hearts full of gratitude for his guidance and blessings.

RENEW in collaboration with the Police Division of Dagana, successfully conducted an awareness programme today to address Gender-Based Violence (GBV), Domestic Violence (DV), and EISR. Participants gained valuable insights into prevention, reporting mechanisms, and support services.

Coinciding with International Women’s Day, this initiative underscores our collective commitment to promoting gender equality, protecting women’s rights, and fostering safer communities in Dagana Dzongkhag.

Gesarling Gewog Administration, together with the general public and the Gesarling Central School fraternity, warmly welcomed the new Gewog Lam, Lam Thinley Wangchuk, who has been transferred from Lhamoizingkha.

The occasion was observed with a traditional Merchang ceremony, Tshokchang, and various cultural performances from the public, marking an auspicious beginning to his tenure in Gesarling Gewog.
