A joint monitoring was carried out today by officials from the Gewog Administration, Department of Surface Transport (DoST), and the contractor along the improvement works of the GC Road, now designated as the Dzongkhag Road.

During the monitoring, the Gewog proposed the construction of additional retaining walls at critical locations to ensure the required road width and enhance safety and stability along the road.

The improvement works are expected to be completed by December 2026.

The people of Ngatse Chiwog, led by the Chiwog Tshogpa, came together to clear the debris that had accumulated over the Bailey bridge following a flash flood caused by heavy rainfall.
