Ongoing landslides on the Darjegang–Deling Marbjee farm road in Phuentsholing Gewog threaten to completely cut off access for local communities.
To address this, we have initiated a bypass from Kabreytar. However, because the terrain remains unstable, please expect frequent blockages and travel disruptions during the heavy monsoon season. Permanent stabilization work will begin as soon as the emergency ad hoc budget request is sanctioned.

It was learnt that the Department of Geology and Mines (DGM) has already allocated dredging sites to eight firms, under the strict condition that they construct resilient barriers along their respective stretches. We emphasized the importance of these barriers and the clearing of waterways to prevent overflow, as mandated by the DGM.We are hopeful that these measures are robust enough to prevent a recurrence of last year’s devastating floods.
