From May 21–27, 2025, the Department of Forests and Park (DoFPS), in collaboration with the Legal Service Division, convened a workshop in Punakha to amendment the Forest and Nature Conservation Rules and Regulations (FNCRR) of Bhutan.

The workshop was focused to ensure that the revised FNCRR aligns with evolving social, ecological, and economic dimensions, while remaining consistent with national legal framework. This amendment process is essential to enhance clarity, facilitate implementation, and improve interpretability. The revised FNCRR is expected to support more effective conservation and sustainable resource use.

The workshop was funded by the International Climate Initiative (IKI) project, the Federal Government of Germany and WWF Bhutan, reflecting strong international support for Bhutan’s environmental governance. The Hon’ble Director accompanied by IKI Project Chair graced the workshop.
