A great meal, indeed; one of choice for people with diabetes. Once a regular meal for the majority in eastern Bhutan, it is now a preferred dish among the affluent.
It has become my golden meal, a return to traditional eating habits to stay healthy until the final call from Lord Yama.
Today, I realized that I have never cooked even once for my aged parents. Am I really an irresponsible child? This thought kept lingering in my troubled mind until I ran home as fast as I could and asked my mother what she would like to have for lunch. Her response weighed me down with unbearable regret. I can never disclose her answer—no matter the cost. How can I reveal her reply when I was too late to ask her that question?
A little gesture often brings true happiness if we understand its meaning.
