Wamrong Range Office, Trashigang Division

We, the staff of the Wamrong Range Office, Trashigang Division Range office joined the nation to celebrate 116th National Day of Bhutan and reiterate to serve the Tsa-Wa-Sum.

Build up program under Wamrong Range fraternity for 116th National Day Celebration.

Felids (wild cats) species found in the Wamrong Range, Trashigang division.

Bhutan has close to 200 species of mammals, and its high species richness combined with the availability of quality habitats makes it a sanctuary for Palearctic and Indo-Malayan mammals( Wangchuk et al.2004). Felids found in Wamrong jurisdiction. The search was started in 2019 with my colleague, Mr. Dawa Tshering(FR-I) and the other field colleagues.Currently, we have sighted the following species of felines.

1. Common leopard(Panthera pardus)
2. Clouded leopard( Neofelis nebulosa)
3. Asiatic Golden cat(Catopuma temmincki)
4. Marbled cat(Pardofelis marmorata/Felis marmorata)
5. Leopard cat(Prionailurus bengalensis/Felis bengalensis)
6. Jungle cat(Felis chaus)
7. Spotted lingsang(Prionodon pardiclor).
8. Black Panther( Panthera pardus)
9. Tiger(Panthera tigris)…….????????? Yet to be confirmed.

If you are lucky enough, you will sight all these beautiful felids(wild cats). Almost all sighting area is within the Key Biodiversity Area (KBA) landscape under Wamrong Range in Trashigang Division. This information is evidence based and about most important iconic/umbrella species i.e tiger is yet to be confirmed. The pugmark sample has assure about 90% is 🐅.. About more than 60% of felids can be observed under the range jurisdiction.

Finally the job was done which was collected since July 2023, this is mainly for educational purposes and awareness to the general public to know which are venomous and non-venomous. We can save the reptiles and amphibians which play vital roles in the ecosystem.

Just for collection and awareness purposes larger groups of public reptiles. Many people kill snakes thinking all are harmful but reality is not harmful but helpful....

Online Forestry Services Awareness program under Wamrong Range

Observing Social Forestry Day

We joined the Nation to celebrate Social Forestry Day. The celebration was initiated in collaboration with the Dungkhag Administration of Wamrong. The celebration was observed and attended by Wamrong Dungkhag officials, court officials, RBP, civil servants from regional offices,business communities of Wamrong town, and the public from nearby towns also joined the program.

We rededicated to serve the Tsa-Wa-Sum by planting trees and protecting the natural environment.

Finally thanking honorable Dasho Dungpa of Wamrong Dungkhag for nobel initiatives and each individual who involved the program.

On 10/5/2022, and officially handed over CF certificate for Beddingphu Phuensum Community Forest to CFMG members by Chief Forestry Officer of Trashigang Division and representing the DoFPS and with total area of 248.44 ha, and has 38 households as the members. Currently Kangpara gewog has six community forest including the latest CF .
