THE DIRECTOR IN THE DEPARTMENT OF NURSING AND MIDWIFERY-MINISTRY OF HEALTH, CONDUCTS SUPPORT VISIT AT SCOTTISH LIVINGSTONE HOSPITAL

Ministry of Health,through the Department of Nursing and Midwifery embarked on a facility support visit at Scottish Livingstone Hospital this morning,23 June 2026.

The purpose of the support visit was to gain an insight into the nursing and midwifery staffing situation and to engage with the Nursing and Midwifery leadership to appreciate their experiences and challenges.

During the interactive engagement,The Director in the Department of Nursing and Midwifery Mr Rejoice Sankoloba emphasised that creating an enabling and supportive work environment is vital for maintaining high quality patient care and highlighted that the Ministry of Health aims to implement rapid,needs-based solutions that will benefit both the healthcare workforce and the communities they serve.

Present among the Ministry of Health delegation was the Chief Nursing officer, Ms.Margaret Ontiretse and the Assistant Director-Corporate Services, Ms.Cecillia Mosetlha.

The meeting ended with a tour of the Maternity Department and the Neo-Natal Unit where Mr.Sankoloba and the Ministry of Health team engaged with the nursing and midwifery personnel.

SCOTTISH LIVINGSTONE HOSPITAL CELEBRATES FATHER'S DAY IN STYLE

This morning,19th June 2026,Scottish Livingstone Hospital held a pre-celebration of Father's Day,a special occasion that recognises and provide a dedicated opportunity to honor fatherhood and paternal bonds.

The session which was themed,"Strong Fathers,Strong Minds:Prioritising Men's Mental Health" reaffirms that mental health is as equally important as physical health. It also emphasises that true strength lies in recognising when help is needed and having the courage to seek it.

The two part session started with speeches from the elderly women staff members offering a powerful opportunity to show appreciation and foster emotional connection and the second session where the hospital officially launched the Kgotla and fathers gathered for lunch and enjoyed a delicious meal and a culturally rooted platform to discuss manly issues and reinforce positive role models.

Father's Day in 2026 is celebrated on Sunday 21 June.Families and communities across the country gather to celebrate Father's Day,a special occasion dedicated to recognising the love,sacrifice and guidance provided by fathers and father figures.

Scottish Livingstone Hospital staff members are invited to a celebration to honor the fathers.
