Feeling prepared can make all the difference when walking into an interview, starting a new job or taking the next step towards employment.

This is what made Connecting to Learn, hosted by Metro Toronto Movement for Literacy, such a valuable event. We had a wonderful time networking with service providers, listening to an impressive panel of speakers and finding out how we can help job seekers develop their literacy and skills as they work towards their employment goals.

Employers are a big part of the employment services picture. The stronger our relationships are, the better we can understand what they’re looking for, where the opportunities are and how we can connect more job seekers to work.

This month, 113 Employment Service Provider staff representing 70 sites joined Effective Employer Engagement Training sessions delivered by WCG Services. Teams came together to share what’s working, learn from one another and explore different ways to build and strengthen relationships with employers in their communities.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, shared their experiences and added to the conversation!

Special thanks to our facilitators: Amanda, Yingtong, Narzo, Chantel, Chris and Gabriela.
