October 1 marks the beginning of Latin American Heritage Month in Canada.

Some call it Hispanic Heritage Month. Others call it Latin American Heritage Month. For many of us, identity is personal, and the words we use to describe ourselves are as diverse as our communities.

From Argentina to Venezuela, our diaspora includes many countries, cultures, histories and identities.

This month, we celebrate all of them.

Proud Dad moment! ⚽😍 Nothing beats seeing my two boys standing side-by-side with the great Cyle Larin. Having him come back to visit his old alma mater and inspire the next generation of players was incredible to watch.

When my second eldest signed with sigmafc, it was easily one of the proudest moments of my life. I couldn't believe it when, less than a year later, they saw my third youngest play and recruited him for the following season!

Our club and the Brampton community continue to produce unbelievable talent. Just look at the 6 Brampton players who have represented Team Canada on the world stage 🇨🇦:
⚽ Cyle Larin (Cyle Larin)
⚽ Tajon Buchanan (Tajon Buchanan)
⚽ Jonathan Osorio ()
⚽ Junior Hoilett ()
⚽ Liam Millar ()
⚽ Dayne St. Clair ()

Seeing where hard work and strong community roots can take these young athletes keeps me inspired. Investing in recreational activities for children can only lead to greatness for our city. The grind continues! 🔥

Brampton residents are sick and tired of seeing hard-earned tax dollars wasted while basic services fall behind. We deserve real change, transparent leadership, and a City Hall that actually works for us.

As a community advocate, I’m on the streets every day speaking with residents, listening to your concerns, and seeing firsthand the challenges our city is facing. From safety and infrastructure to city services, I see where the gaps are, and I have a practical plan to help turn things around.

MY PLAN TO CLEAN UP BRAMPTON:

✅ FULL TRANSPARENCY
A public spending dashboard so residents can see where their money goes.

✅ ACCOUNTABILITY
Clear, published timelines for public repairs, so residents know what is being done and when.

✅ CORE SERVICES FIRST
Prioritizing basic services over costly new projects.

✅ SAFER STREETS
Bringing back boots-on-the-ground bylaw enforcement.

$370 MILLION REASONS TO VOTE

Our review identified approximately $370M in public spending that deserves greater oversight, including:

▪️ $122M, failed or abandoned projects
▪️ $186M, poor real estate decisions
▪️ $4.7M, severance payouts
▪️ $45M, massive salary increases
▪️ $12M, noncompetitive contracts
▪️ $1.2M, luxury travel

This isn’t about politics as usual. It’s about asking simple questions:

❓Where is our money going?
❓What are we getting for it?
❓And who is accountable?

It’s our money, our city, and our future.

Looking back at last weekend’s Super Canvas, I am completely blown away and overflowing with gratitude for every single one of you who showed up. To every volunteer, neighbor, and supporter who laced up their sneakers and spent their weekend with us, thank you from the bottom of my heart. 💙🙌

You brought unstoppable energy and unmatched passion to every single street we walked. Together, we built real connections, knocking on hundreds of doors and having genuine, meaningful conversations about what truly matters to our community. Seeing so many new faces step up alongside long-time supporters proved that our movement is growing faster and stronger than ever.

Moments like last weekend remind me why I started this journey. This success isn't just mine, it belongs to every single person who chose to give their time and energy so we can clean up Brampton together.

Check out the recap clips above to see the incredible work we did! 🎬✨

Did you know we’re fighting a 10-to-1 housing squeeze? 🫪🤯

A tale of two cities.

🏙️ While neighboring cities like Vaughan boom and build to keep up with growth, Brampton has been left behind—stuck at a staggering 10 new residents for every 1 single housing unit built.

The numbers don't lie, and the housing crunch is real but the gridlock doesn't have to be our permanent reality. My name is Idris Orughu and I have a plan to protect our tax dollars and develop our city infrastructure.

Every dollar you pay in taxes should go toward making your life better. Visit Cleanupbrampton.com to learn more!!

It’s time to clear the red tape, align our growth with proper infrastructure, and finally start building the livable communities our families deserve.

Let's turn the page.

Hi neighbors, I recently sat down with Nitin Chopra on The Truth Pill Canada for an open and honest conversation about the issues that matter most right here at home. We dove straight into our community's most pressing challenges, including the urgent need for better healthcare access and a new hospital, the heavy financial waste at City Hall, and the lack of proper development and infrastructure repairs.

📺 Please watch the full interview, I would love to hear your thoughts on how we can move forward. Let’s keep the discussion constructive below. 🙏🏽

Why have we neglected enforcement for all these years? Programs are expanded, penalties are increased, but staffing and resource fail to follow.

In April of 2025, the director of enforcement - Higgs told council that 68% of all bylaw complaints are related to illegal parking and 50% of those calls are NOT responded to, because of a lack of resources.
