New in South Calgary!
The City of Calgary has opened a new Fair Entry & Calgary Transit location in Shawnessy (333 Shawville Blvd. S.E.) 🎉
This expanded access means:
✅ Faster service with 4 Fair Entry & 2 Transit counters
✅ Discounted transit passes, recreation, and fee assistance programs
✅ Free parking + easy access to Somerset-Bridlewood CTrain
✅ A new queuing system to reduce wait times
Fair Entry makes it easier for Calgarians with low income to access programs and services with dignity. More than 116,000 residents have applied in 2025 alone—this new site helps meet that growing need.
📅 Opened Sept. 8, 2025

📢 Community Update – Copperfield
You may remember that a beloved sculpture in our Copperfield public space was stolen earlier this year.
We’re happy to share some good news: the piece has been recast by the original artist, polished, waxed, and reinstalled in its original location.
The family of figures is once again reunited for all to enjoy. 🎉
Come by, take a look, and celebrate the return of this piece of community art!

Great to see Calgary’s Secondary Suite Registry surpass 20,000 registered suites — a big win for safe, legal, and flexible housing in our city.
This milestone reflects years of effort from Council, City staff, and homeowners who have invested in creating safe, code-compliant suites that serve renters, students, seniors, and multi-generational families.
It also shows how strong policy foundations make a difference. The Short-Term Rental regulatory work championed by my colleague Cllr. Mian has created a healthier environment for all types of suites, helping ensure they contribute positively to Calgary’s housing mix.
Every registered suite means more housing choice, better safety, and stronger communities. Let’s keep the momentum going!
