🌍 Happy Earth Day, Calgary!
Building a city for the future means building responsibly today.
Did you know, about half of the Green Line LRT alignment is being constructed on land that’s already developed? Helping to minimize impact and limiting expansion into new spaces. Only a small portion intersects ecological habitat or wetlands, and where it does, we take extra care to protect and restore those spaces.
It’s all part of how we’re working to build transit that fits into our city — today and for future generations.

A strong bridge begins with quality concrete pours—and that’s exactly what we have delivered.
Over the last few weeks, our construction partner EllisDon Corporation and their crews have completed concrete pours for some key components of the future Green Line LRT bridge at 📍 Blackfoot Trail near Crossroads Market Ltd. It might just look like concrete blocks today, but these structures are what will eventually support the bridge, the tracks, and the trains moving across it every day.
If you drive, bike, or walk nearby, this is the progress you’ve been seeing. Step by step, the Green Line is taking shape — right here.

🚆 Sneak a peek: Calgary’s future trains are taking shape.
The first Green Line LRT trains are officially being built — and for the first time, we’re sharing an exclusive look at how they’re coming together.
The first two vehicles are being built now and will be carefully tested, tuned, and perfected before the rest of the fleet is produced. This important step helps ensure the Green Line delivers a transit experience that’s more accessible, reliable, and designed for everyday Calgary life.
With features like low‑floor access and modern systems built to perform in real‑world Calgary conditions (yes, even winter️), these trains are safe, sleek and smart.

Today, green is pink as we stand together against bullying.
On a large infrastructure project, we rely on each other every day—on site, in the office, and behind the scenes. Safety isn’t just about the work we do and what we build, it’s about the way we treat one another. Speaking up. Checking in. Having each other’s backs.
Pink Shirt Day is a reminder that everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, and supported at work. When we look out for one another, we build stronger teams, safer projects, and a better workplace for all.

🚧 Progress update on the Green Line LRT – SE Project! 🚊
Our construction partner EllisDon Corporation is making steady progress on the Blackfoot Trail LRT Bridge near Crossroads Market.
This bridge is a key part of the Green Line and sits just south of the future 26 Avenue S.E. Station. Once complete, the station area will offer space for community events and other amenities—helping connect people to jobs, culture, and nearby neighbourhoods.
On site:
✅ Site grading and erosion control are now complete, helping prepare the area for safe, long-term construction.
🔨 Piling is underway on the north side of Blackfoot Trail, building the foundation that will support the future bridge deck.
Stay tuned for more updates as work continues—and if you’re in the area, be sure to stop by Crossroads Market Ltd. open Friday to Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
