It’s a long way to go until the next election, but it’s clear that our party’s leadership is resonating across the province.
Let’s keep our foot on the gas and the hard work going to keep earning the trust of Albertans 👏🔵

From Cory Morgan:
Nenshi is trying to spin it but he has a real problem on his hands in trying to get into the legislature.
I can understand why he won't go to Lethbridge West. He is claiming it's because he believes it should be locally represented but that's BS. The real reason he won't run down there is that it's a high-risk seat. Philips didn't win it with huge margins, and she didn't have much love for Nenshi. She isn't leaving a welcoming spot for him.
The embarrassment for him if he lost down there makes the risk too high.
Rest assured, if Lethbridge West was traditionally held by the NDP with 20-point margins, he would already have begun his by-election campaign.
Calgary really only has two safe seats for him. Buffalo and Mountainview. Ganley is young and parked in Mountainview. She isn't going anywhere.
Ceci is in Buffalo. I really figured he would step aside for Nenshi as the spot is a natural for him. I can only guess Ceci just doesn't want to go for some reason. Maybe he is holding out for the right enticement from Nenshi. That's normal style political horse trading.
Calgary Acadia isn't safe and Northeast Calgary offers the most volatile politics in Alberta.
Nenshi could perhaps convince an Edmonton MLA to open a spot for him but he really wants to remain in his Calgary stronghold to try and develop support there. He knows Calgary is the lynchpin for the next election.
Being outside of the legislature for a few months isn't a big deal but if it goes beyond a year, he will be putting himself at a huge disadvantage and will be looking weak. He really needs to be on the floor of the legislature for the fall session.
I still think he will manage to coax Ceci out of his spot eventually.
Don't believe Nenshi for a second when he says he is content without a seat. Something hasn't gone according to plan for him and he is scrambling to find a way into the legislature. Count on it.
