Welcome back students and staff! We would like to wish everyone a safe transition entering the new school year. Your School Resource Officers are there ready to support students and staff at elementary, junior and senior high schools.

Casino weekend! Lots of fun and camaraderie here. So glad to help raise funds for our awesome school. Beats coupon books and poinsettias for fundraising any day!!

ICYMI: With our grade 5-9 students returning to in-school learning next week, we (RTA School Office) will start accepting Chromebook returns. We ask that parents return borrowed laptops, ensuring that they are returned with the original box (if applicable) and cords. It is important that we have all the Chromebooks returned as soon as possible as they are used for learning in the classrooms.

Alberta Education is renewing school curriculum. On March 29, 2021, Minister of Education, the Honourable Adriana LaGrange released the draft Kindergarten to Grade 6 curriculum, which is available for review on www.alberta.ca/curriculum.

Please visit www.alberta.ca/curriculum-have-your-say for a list of sessions and to register. Sessions will be offered in both English and French, during both the day and evening.

Welcome to all our new followers!

Following our Parent Association, and School Council Meeting on April 15th: our Bingo Chair has informed all parents present at the meet, that RTA still has not received any Bingos (due to Covid shutdowns). The funds raised at these Bingo events are used to purchase various teaching materials, fund certain school activities, purchase thank-you gifts for staff, and help with Gr 9 graduation ceremonies, to name a few. Even though our bank account is healthy, we anticipate a shortfall in funds to cover expenses in the upcoming school year. Parents should anticipate some form of fundraising in the coming months to help supplement this shortfall. To know more about these and other decisions, please try to attend our upcoming Parent Association and School Council virtual meeting on May 20th. Lots of important and relevant information is shared in these meetings. We would love to have more parents actively involved in these discussions!

Will your child be moving schools next year? Please do not forget to advise the office of any such changes.
