Quick update:

Alhumdulillah, we were able to raise the required Sadaqa and Fitr through 70 food hampers to the local families today. Each hamper cost came out to be $100.58 and as you can see Alhumdulillah it was a big hamper!

Thank you to Super Asia Foods and Sherbon for donating cookies and juice for the hamper. Thank you to Kevin and Amanda's No Frills (temple location) for giving us an amazing deal on this hamper. They have been great supporters for EG and this hamper program for many many years. Last but least thank you to Islamic Relief Canada for coming down to help with the hampers today as well.
Thank you to all the donors and volunteers for making today a great success. Please make the best of the remainder of Ramadan.

It is food hamper date today. We have just picked up the order and on our way to packaging right now. We are still collecting funds for this hamper drive. If you can contribute, please send it to [email protected]

In terms of donations, we are very close to our goal but considering Eid and increased grocery prices, we would like to add a bit extra in the hamper. If you can contribute a little even, please do so by sending it to [email protected]

Please remember to pay your zakat ul fitr (fitrana) before Saturday as we are distributing on Sunday. Any donations collected afterwards will not be distributed before eid Salah.

Asalam u Alaikum,

Eid ul Fitr is around the corner and that means it is time to celebrate. But just before we do that, let's take some time to think about where you would like to pay Zakat ul Fitr. Wherever you decide to send it, ask the question about how it will be distributed and to whom/when etc.

Zakat ul Fitr is being determined to be $15 by local organizations in Calgary and is mandatory for each member of the household to pay before they pray Eid Salah.

Enjoin Good will be partnering with National Zakat Foundation Canada to distribute food hampers this coming Saturday on April 30 to distribute Zakat ul Fitr to local families in need. Zakat ul Fitr is being determined to be $15 by local organizations in Calgary and is mandatory for each member of the household to pay before they pray Eid Salah. You will notice NZF has declared it to be $10. You can choose whichever one you think is appropriate.
