📢 ANNOUNCING, the 2022 YWE Awards Program!! 📢 Yes, it's that time of year already, and today is the launch of our ninth (!) year of the ! We are thrilled to continue to recognize, reward and celebrate women making a difference in Alberta's Energy industry.

We are in the midst of an energy transformation -- AND concerns are both at an all time high. Our Energy industry has some of the best and brightest in the industry, and we need 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐇𝐄𝐋𝐏 to shine a spotlight on the contributions by women to the sector.

This afternoon YWE had the privilege of working with and having a few of our 2021 Winners speak to their cohort of youth in Grades 7-9 about how their education and career choices, their upbringing and their own families have shaped their trajectory. Thanks to Lauretta Pearse, Andrea Hepp, Leora Hornstein, and Ivy Cheung from YWE, and to Raman Sawhney from APAR for putting on the event!

On June 21st each year, Canada recognizes as a day for all Canadians to recognize and celebrate the unique heritage, diverse cultures and outstanding contributions Indigenous people. Indigenous is a key part of Alberta's energy future. 

YWE's Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation Committee (IRRC) have put together an extensive list of ways to celebrate and recognize Indigenous History Month, and National Indigenous People's Day. The list stretches from to , and includes ceremonies, performances, markets, workshops, music, and even an app! Link in our Stories!!

Our 2021 Winners accepted their awards next to the art piece made specifically for them! It was an inspirational and emotional evening! Each piece has a story, stay tuned for more on the artists and art pieces next week! 🤩🤩🤩
