The Royal Canadian Legion #1 Calgary

As part of our Centenary celebrations, the Alberta–NWT Command of the Royal Canadian Legion invites Schools across Alberta and the Northwest Territories to participate in our 𝐆𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐑𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 – 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐏𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐲 𝐆𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭.

We encourage students, teachers, and their respective Schools to plant Poppies as a symbol of remembrance and to celebrate the Centenary year with us!

How to Join:

✔️ Plant poppies in a garden, designated area, or pots

📸 Once the Poppies bloom, the school should take photos of their Poppy Garden and share them through the school’s official Facebook, Instagram, or X account with the hashtags and

🌱Schools may request 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐏𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐲 𝐬𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬 by emailing: [email protected]

🤩🤩A huge thank you to the 30+ incredible volunteers, including cadets, who came together to help clean Legion No. 1! In just 4 hours, you tackled two full levels with amazing teamwork and energy. From dusting, vacuuming, and washing walls to cleaning bathrooms, tables, and chairs, and even completing light repairs, your efforts truly made a difference.

Your time, care, and community spirit do not go unnoticed — the Legion looks fantastic because of you. We are so grateful for each and every one of you who rolled up your sleeves and made this happen. ❤️❤️

We need your help to spruce up our building. Whether you’re able to lend a hand for the full day or just a few hours, every contribution makes a real difference.

Tasks will include:
🧹 general cleaning
🧽 washing and dusting
🪣 refreshing common spaces

No special experience is required — just comfortable clothes, a positive attitude, and a willingness to help. It’s also a wonderful opportunity to connect with fellow members, meet new faces, and enjoy the satisfaction of seeing immediate results from your efforts.
