Last week in Calgary, leaders from industry, Indigenous communities, and government came together to explore how Transportation and Utility Corridors (TUCs) can connect regions, support trade, and drive long-term economic growth.
Multi-use corridors covering pipelines, electricity, rail, roads and more, help improve safety and create predictable pathways for investment.
Collaboration, clear planning and shared opportunity were central to the conversation, showing how practical solutions can benefit communities, investors and industry alike.

Canada has world-class resources. What we lack is enough reliable ways to move them.
A stronger Hudson Bay corridor, with more than one port option, means fewer delays, lower costs, and more confidence for exporters and communities alike. That’s how you unlock growth in the North and across the Prairies.

Canada’s economy has untapped potential to drive faster growth and deliver real benefits for all Canadians.
By removing internal barriers and connecting our economy coast to coast, Canada would:
• Increase export revenues by $300 billion
• Generate $7,200 in GDP per Canadian, per year
• Add $17,200 in income per household
• Strengthen funding for social programs and national defence
These outcomes mean stronger communities, better jobs and long-term economic resilience.

Canada has the resources and talent to succeed but limited corridor capacity often forces us to sell what we produce at a discount.
That’s why we built the Corridor Benefit Calculator. Using current prices and realistic assumptions, it demonstrates how improved trade and energy corridors could significantly boost Canada’s economy and provide meaningful benefits to households across the country every year.
These numbers make infrastructure benefits tangible. They show how improving the way we move energy and goods can support affordability, jobs, and long-term prosperity for families across the country.
You can explore the calculator and see the impact for yourself at www.caneconomy.ca.
When our corridors work, Canadians succeed.

BREAKING:
The Alberta and Canadian governments have reached a historic agreement that will unleash the Alberta energy sector, create tens of thousands of jobs, and attract billions in new investment.
This deal includes the potential for an additional 1.4 million barrels-per-day in pipeline capacity to the west coast, almost tripling Alberta oil exports to Asian markets.
Ottawa has also agreed to drop the oil and gas production cap and suspend the Net-Zero power regs, so Alberta can focus on reducing emissions through our TIER system and world-leading CCUS technology instead.
Although this is a massive win for Alberta and Canada, we will still hold the federal government accountable for keeping their end of the bargain.
There’s a lot of work left to do so let’s roll up our sleeves and get the job done Alberta!
