Every month we serve over 43,000 individuals and provide 500,000 meals and snacks through 380+ agencies, schools, churches, and food depots.

When individuals call the Food Bank ( YEGFoodBank ) looking for assistance, they are asked questions about their situation such as their name, address, family size, source of income, and what has happened that has left them short of money and food. During this process, the individual may be provided with information on other helping agencies or groups such as low-cost housing, collective kitchens,

This amazing team from Edmonton's Food Bank met to start planning The Food Drive scheduled for September 19th. Did you know the annual event is in its 17th year? Last year thousands of volunteers from 17 local communities collected non perishable food for their local food bank.

Donations totalled more than 450,000 pounds of food! Edmontonians donated almost 300,000 pounds to Edmonton's Food Bank.

The drive is organized by volunteers from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints . Look for opportunities to volunteer for the drive in a local congregation or on JustServe.org

O'Hanlon Paving Ltd. is generous supporters of our work. In May, Rob, on behalf of O'Hanlon, donated over 4,500 kg of potatoes, carrots, and onions to the Food Bank!

These root vegetables will be kept in our new cooler, made possible by the students at Strathcona High School through their Scona Initiative. From there, they will be repacked and placed on our hamper line, with many also going to our agency partners.

Thank YOU O'Hanlon for continuing to support our work!

Our Executive Director, Marjorie Bencz, recently had the pleasure of joining Food Banks Canada to pack food kits, helping ensure children have access to nutritious food throughout the summer months.

When school meal programs pause, these kits help fill the gap so kids can stay healthy, active, and ready to thrive!
