❗High Streamflow Advisory and Rainfall Event Update (Tuesday, June 2)
The rain is expected to taper off today and end moving into tomorrow. We expect flows to continue in our steep creeks over the coming days, while the snow that has fallen at higher elevations melts. A high streamflow advisory remains in effect for the Bow River and steep creeks. Ground water levels remain high.
This will be our final update for this rainfall event.
⚠️ What You Need to Do:
Stay away from embankments and exercise caution and judgement around the Bow River and all of the steep creeks in the area. Water levels are extremely high, they are moving swiftly, and the water temperature is cold. Do not, under any circumstance, jump into the Bow River or play in water flowing in the steep creeks. You might feel confident in your abilities, but now is not the time to test the strength of mother nature—you risk your own life as well as the lives of first responders. Do not be the reason that other people are put in danger.
Due to the high groundwater levels, use caution while driving and travelling around town.

❗High Streamflow Advisory and Rainfall Event Update (Monday, June 1)
We continue to monitor our steep creeks, the Bow River and streamflow data provided by the Alberta River Forecast Centre. A high streamflow advisory for the Bow River and Steep Creeks remains in effect. Ground water levels are high, we are monitoring known areas and putting up signage where applicable to provide warning to those travelling in the areas.
In some areas of Canmore, water from the Bow River is covering portions of pathways. Town of Canmore crews are closing those areas out of an abundance of caution for public safety.
Weather models show steady precipitation today, easing into tomorrow.

🚤 Impaired boating is dangerous and preventable.
Alcohol and drugs can seriously affect judgment, balance, and reaction time. On the water, that impairment increases the risk of accidents, injuries, and loss of life for you, your passengers, and others nearby.
Stay Sober. Get home safely.
