Today’s was all about Community Clean-Up across all our locations, including beautiful Fort McMurray!

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hi, and to all who support our outreach and community connection efforts—whether through donations, volunteering, or simply spreading the word. We couldn’t do it without you! 💚

Today, on World Homeless Day, we continue our commitment to Outreach Fridays—a time dedicated to building genuine human connections with our unhoused neighbors.

We recognize, like so many doing this vital work, that ending homelessness isn’t as simple as offering a quick fix. It requires addressing both individual and systemic barriers, supporting healing from trauma, and—most importantly—establishing trust and rapport.

This is why Outreach Fridays matter so deeply to us. It’s about showing up with compassion, consistency, and kindness.

Today, like many days, our team responded with care and dignity to a complex situation involving trauma and mental health. On a busy roadway, our Manager intervened with calm professionalism—despite honking cars and onlookers - to help a very vulnerable guest. Thanks to teamwork and empathy, the situation was safely resolved, and the client felt supported by both staff and fellow guests.

We’re grateful for our partners and proud of the compassion shown every day. Just doing our best out here—thank you for standing with us.

Are you passionate about justice, healing, and community care? Join the Elizabeth Fry Societies across the Prairie provinces in supporting Indigenous women, trans, two-spirit, and non-binary folks returning home from incarceration. 💼💙

This one-year contract (with possible extension) offers the opportunity to walk alongside Indigenous women and gender-diverse folks as they prepare for parole and return to their communities. With a strong grounding in cultural humility and relational care, you'll support parole planning, provide community referrals, and help advocate against systemic barriers. ✨

📍 Based in AB, SK, or MB | Remote with travel
💵 Salary: Up to $70,000/year (based on experience & location)
