We are affordable housing pre-development experts and a leader in facilitating the development of affordable housing in rural communities.

Launched in 2015, the Sustainable Housing Initiative (SHI) is a division within the Rural Development Network (RDN) dedicated to the development of cost-effective, innovative, and sustainable housing within rural communities across Canada. The SHI has also developed a free guide (https://www.housingredefined.ca/guide) for any group/community to use to help streamline the process for affordable housing projects.

Yesterday, The Sustainable Housing Initiative was well represented in Ottawa alongside colleagues from the Community Housing Transformation Centre and Innovation Habitation Outaouais at the Canadian Housing and Renewal Association's Housing on the Hill Day.

This day served as an opportunity to speak directly with MPs Karen Vecchio, Elgin-Middlesex-London and Jean-Denis Garon, député de Mirabel about the impact that community, social and affordable housing has on addressing Canada’s housing crisis.

Thank you to the CHRA for organizing this advocacy event!
