Yesterday was a wonderful Grizzly Den pitch day! Over the course of the afternoon, the Grizzlies got to hear about the epic plans of groups who applied for Grizzly Den funding and present cheques to the successful young adventurers!
The Grizzly Den is an excellent program enabling youth to go on bigger expeditions that may otherwise be limited by funding. Well done to the groups who showed up and special thanks to the Northern Lights Scout foundation!
In addition to the volunteer opportunity posted last week, we're looking for a few additional roles for a renewed Council Leadership Team. This team will work collaboratively alongside the Council Key 3 to support and strengthen our Council.
We are currently seeking volunteers for the following roles:
- Event Support Scouter (Posted last week)
- Communication Support Scouter (primarily focused on our newsletter and tending our parts of our NLC social media presence)
- Two (2) Group Support Scouters
Together with the CK3, this core group of volunteers will bring their experience, skills, and energy to help strengthen NLC networks by building more regular and meaningful connections between groups and Council.
If you’re interested in contributing at the Council level—or know someone who might be a great fit—connect with us at [email protected] to receive the role profiles and consider applying or nominating a fellow Scouter.
🗓️ Please submit expressions of interest on or before April 20, 2026.
Thank you for helping us build a stronger, more connected NLC.

Scouts around NLC had an awesome time at JOTI-JOTA this weekend! With activities from radios to Fitset ninja, this camp offered many opportunities for Scouts to meet new people and try new things.
A huge thank you to the 1st Leduc Scout group, the hosts of this year’s camp, and all the wonderful scouters and offers of service who helped make JOTA a reality!
