Libraries are starting to use AI in some pretty interesting ways, but itโs not just about jumping on a trend!
This recent Choice 360 article looks at how AI is being used to make it easier to find information, improve collections, and allow resources to be more accessible for everyone. At the same time, librarians are thinking carefully about important issues like privacy, bias, and how these tools actually impact users.
The big takeaway: AI can be powerful, but it works best when itโs used thoughtfully and with people in mind. Libraries are showing how technology can support learning, research, and access in meaningful ways.
What do you think about AI being used in libraries? ๐ค

Equity isnโt just an idea, itโs something we can actively practice in our libraries ๐
Imagine Canada has released practical guides to help organizations (including libraries) look honestly at their equity, diversity, and inclusion work and turn reflection into real action. These tools walk through things like assessing current practices, building inclusive teams, and keeping accountability at the heart of everything we do.
For libraries, this means creating spaces and services that reflect and serve all members of our communities, not just in words, but in everyday practice ๐ค๐งโ๐คโ๐ง
Equity is a journey we grow on together and these resources can be a helpful map ๐ก

What if libraries helped support local news? ๐ฐ
A recent article from Library Futures looks at how libraries and newsrooms can work together to share community stories and improve access to reliable information.
As local news declines, partnerships like this could help keep communities informed and connected ๐งโ๐คโ๐ง
Itโs a simple idea, but one that could make a big difference ๐ก
What do you think? Should libraries play a role in local news? ๐ค
