ACFN DLRM held a Community Tailings Engagement in May 2026. The engagement held space for members to share their testimony on how tailings wastewater (oil sands process affected water or OSPW) has impacted, and continues to impact, them and their families.

This will be part of ACFN’s submission for the Canadian Environmental Protection Act (CEPA) Risk Assessment on OSPW.

Thank you to everyone who came and shared their perspectives on tailings, tailings treatment, and options for reclamation.

United, we will continue to amplify our voices to ensure we protect our families and generations to come.

ACFN women, men and youth are invited to contribute to and help
finalize the ACFN Rights Assessment Framework!

ACFN is working with Integral Ecology Group (IEG) to conduct a
rights impact assessment focused on water - these upcoming sessions will share the results of interviews and focus groups held in October 2025. Thank you to the Ni Chu Tu Kelni Advisory Group for their work over the last few months.

DLRM wants to take you out on the land and share information about our work to develop a Rights Impact Assessment!

ALL FORT CHIPEWYAN YOUTH ages 16-30 can sign up to go on boat rides July 9, 10 and 11 and are invited to our Dene Games Night on July 11 at 5 PM!
