This week, members of our team had a great time attending OCSA’s Community Connect 2026 Conference! 💙

It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with colleagues from across Ontario, exchange ideas, and hear about the work being done to strengthen community support services.

At ICAN, we know how important these connections are. By learning from one another and sharing our experiences, we can continue to find better ways to support people to live independently and remain connected to their communities.

Thank you Ontario Community Support Association for bringing everyone together!

A safe, comfortable home can make all the difference!

For Home Help and Maintenance Day, we’re recognizing the important role that home support services play in helping individuals maintain their independence and continue living safely in their own homes.

From everyday household tasks and light cleaning to home maintenance and upkeep, these supports can help create a comfortable environment where individuals can focus on what matters most to them. Sometimes, a little help at home can make a BIG difference!

This Community Support Month, let’s celebrate the services and dedicated individuals who help make independent living possible. 💙

💚 It's National Rural Health Week!

Rural communities deserve access to the services and supports they need, and it takes all of us working together to make that happen.

Here’s to the people who care, the communities that come together, and the connections that make us stronger. 💚

Talent should never be held back by accessibility barriers.

Yet 46% of employed people with disabilities or long-term conditions said accessibility barriers affected their ability to do their daily work.

This National Disability Employment Awareness Month, let’s keep removing barriers at work, now and beyond this month.

Not all disabilities are visible.

Invisible Disabilities Week is a reminder that many people live with disabilities and health conditions that may not be immediately apparent. From chronic illnesses and pain to neurological conditions and mental health challenges, every person’s experience is unique.

Let’s remember to lead with kindness, practice patience, and never make assumptions about someone’s abilities or challenges based on what we can see. Everyone deserves understanding and respect 💙

Believe people. Choose inclusion.

We had so much fun decorating pumpkins this week! It was a wonderful opportunity to chat and get creative 😄🎃

Staying active is an important part of maintaining independence and overall well-being!

For Falls Prevention and Exercise Day, we’re highlighting the importance of movement in helping individuals stay safe and independent in their daily lives.

We encourage activities that promote mobility and quality of life. Whether it’s stretching, walking, participating in an exercise program, or simply finding ways to move throughout the day, every step counts!

Falls prevention is a team effort, and small steps can make a meaningful difference. Let’s keep moving, stay connected, and support independence at every stage of life! 💙
