It's Small Business Week!

From forestry, fishing, hospitality, artists, and everything in-between; Guysborough County is home to a wide range of small businesses that are critical economic drivers in our area. It's no small feat as many businesses here have to tackle seasonal fluctuations and all that comes with being more rural.

Whether you're a business owner or a consumer here in Guysborough County, the GDBP wants your feedback. This feedback will help us identify business opportunities, guide business attraction efforts, strengthen connections between local businesses and suppliers, and plan for flexible commercial space - all with the goal of keeping more spending within our local economy.

It’s Small Business Week!

Each year, The BDC determines a theme. This year, the theme is “It’s a two-speed world - fast or finished”.

With the integration of AI, some aspects of how business is done is changing, but here in rural Nova Scotia, many aspects remain unchanged for the businesses that have enriched our local economy for decades. Many of the businesses here require hands-on, face-to-face interactions: something AI might have a hard time replacing for us.

This week, we celebrate our resilient, hardworking entrepreneurs who call our communities in Guysborough County home.
Be sure to consider supporting local - many of the dollars spent locally stay local!

Ticket sales are live for our 5TH ANNUAL NOR'EASTER CRAFT B**R FESTIVAL!

Get your tickets early - this event sells out and you don't want to miss it.

This year, you'll get to try samples from Big Spruce, Burnside Brewing, Candid Brewing, Coldstream, Tatamagouche Brewing, and Sober Island with more vendors to be added.

There will also be food to purchase on site and live music from Our Fathers Fools!
