MEET THE PULSO NG BAYAN TEAM!!
We're sharing profiles of the Pulso Ng Bayan team members so everyone can get to know the people behind the project! Next up is Jackie!
Since beginning her involvement with Filipino community organizing through Migrante and Anakbayan about 5 years ago, which was sparked by learning about Canadian mining companies land destruction and the military and foreign intervention in her mother’s home of Cordillera, Philippines, Jackie has been committed to and constantly challenged by the resolve of Filipino/a/x mass organizations, our international unity and our education about Philippines revolutionary history and society. As a PhD candidate in Social Work, she draws from institutional resources in support of community and grassroots groups. She hopes this collaborative project with grassroots organizations will be one way to use art, creativity and research to build stronger connections and collective bonds across generations throughout the process. She hopes it will help us learn from the past and present material, social, political and economic conditions and the lessons from our long-time organizers so we can forge more revolutionary futures together.

MEET THE PULSO NG BAYAN TEAM!!
We're sharing profiles of the Pulso Ng Bayan team members so everyone can get to know the people behind the project! First up is Deann!
Deann Louise C. Nardo is a poet, artist and cultural worker. Their mother was an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) and their displacement from the Philippines was due to the labour export program that is now a huge economic force for the Philippine archipelago, disrupting the lives of many people through work shortages, exploitation and family separations. Using community art and research as a tool towards community autonomy and analysis, Deann hopes to thread individual stories with systemic factors that can help us change narratives and material circumstances for our communities.
