Today is International Holocaust Remembrance Day, marking the 81st anniversary since the liberation of Auschwitz, by Soviet troops on 27 January 1945. Today, we remember those that struggled to survive, to outlive evil, and to overcome horrors no one should ever experience. Today, we honour those whose lives were taken too soon, and those that survived and thrived in the aftermath of the nightmare they endured. Today, and everyday, we say Never Again.
On Tuesdays at the Cummings Centre, Cafe Europa hosts a morning for Holocaust survivors. We encourage you to volunteer one day, and bear witness to their survival but more importantly, to their joy in being together in a place that embraces them.

Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to our donors who helped raise over $50,000 in December for our aging community members. The impact of your contributions is truly inspiring, providing essential programs like Meals on Wheels and mental health services. Join us for our 22nd Annual Sports Celebrity Evening in June 2026 and explore new ways to give back, including our upcoming Passover Mitzvah Meals campaign. Let's continue to uplift our seniors together!

On December 3, the Cummings Centre Foundation in partnership with Carole Cohen, held an exclusive shopping event at Maison Lipari to kick off the holiday season.

Over 125 attendees came together for the perfect evening of fashion, community, and purpose — all in support of seniors who rely on the Cummings Centre for connection, care, and life-enhancing programs. All donations directly strengthen mental health support, meaningful programs, and essential services for some of the most vulnerable members of our community.

From the live Carole Cohen Collection fashion show to the Basse Nuts bar, sushi, wine, and incredible raffle prizes, the energy in the room reflected a community committed to doing good together.

A special shoutout to Steve Stein, Basse Nuts, Corinne Asseraf, Assouline and Avanti for the venue, food, and prizes!
