💫🌝 We are all experiencing environmental shifts, so let’s start 2026 with actions that help to create a more sustainable future!

Consider setting these eco-resolutions for the new year:
♻️🥤 Swap single-use plastics for reusable bottles, containers and bags.
🏞️📵 Reduce screen time and choose outdoor and social activities.
🥗🥬 Add more plant-based food to your diet to help lower emissions.
🗑️♻️ Sort your recyclables correctly and start composting.
👕🛍️ Buy second hand, donate what you no longer wear or swap clothes with friends.
🍴🍞 Plan your meals ahead to eat well and avoid food waste.

Every small action counts! It’s never too late to make choices that benefit both your health and the planet 🌎♻️✨

📌 Make sure you add sustainable choices in your 2026 Vision board!

Small choices can make a big difference ♻️✨

Here are simple ways to celebrate more sustainably this year:
🎄 Opt for a potted tree you can plant later or buy a reusable tree that can last for many years.
🎁 Wrap gifts using newspapers, magazines or other materials you already have at home to reduce waste.
💝 Give gifts that last by choosing durable items or offering meaningful experiences like meals, outings, or events.
🍲 Reduce food waste by planning realistic portions or freezing leftovers for the following days.

Let’s celebrate thoughtfully and join us on having a greener holiday season! 💚

Who we are

In 1994, the North American Free Trade Agreement was signed by the leaders of Canada, Mexico, and the US, creating what was at the time the largest free-trade zone in the world. Parallel to this agreement, the Commission for Environmental Cooperation was born as a commitment by the three countries to accompany trade liberalization with effective cooperation and continuous improvement in the environmental protection provided by each country.

Today, the CEC facilitates collaboration and public participation to foster conservation, protection and enhancement of the North American environment for the benefit of present and future generations, in the context of increasing economic, trade, and social links among Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
