Never sure what to say when people ask how I'm doing.
I'm doing my best to lean into my faith to help me understand the world right now. Trying to rationalize what I'm witnessing and the silence that allows it to continue. My mind simply can't understand the inability and inaction to protect children, I am witness to the devaluing of childhood in whole - from gun violence, to cuts to education, to complicity in trafficking to Gaza, Sudan, Congo....the list is never ending.
I'm trying not to lose hope for my own children, especially Ahmad who has no ability to care for himself or even verbalize his needs. What will this world look like for him when I'm gone?
I know this page is for coffee, our family business, but I can't remove family from our work nor can I sweep my humanity aside to sell coffee. I feel responsible to keep spreading information and news, it's literally all I can do and the least of all the actions that are taking place globally to end this violence.
