POLITE PUBLIC NOTICE:
COVID-19 COMPULSORY TEST AND PROOF OF ENGLISH PROFICIENCY AS NECESSARY CONDITIONS FOR E-VISA APPROVAL.
Do not forget to share.
Kindly Read and Follow the Instructions Carefully!
The Consular section is operating at optimal levels due to the pandemic, therefore, we create the indulgence of everyone in need of the Consular Service.
We wish to bring to the notice of all the previous applicants of the Work E-Visas, potential and prospective applicants of the recent Canadian travel policies in the light of the new surge of the pandemic.
The Nigerian Embassy, Ottawa-Canada is committed to following the protocols for COVID-19 as newly and officially exacted by the Canadian government. The Nigeria Embassy wishes to reiterate the following:
1. That Canadian citizens and permanent residents are advised to avoid all non-essential travel outside of Canada until further notice to curb the spread of COVID-19. The best way to protect yourself, your family and those most at risk of severe illness from COVID-19 in our communities is to choose to stay in Canada.
2. Those who had submitted their passports bio-data page for the E-Visa must visit https://nimr.covid.com.ng/ and register for COVID-19 screening. The applicants must carefully and correctly fill the screening form in the website (online) and have it submitted. After submitting, the applicants must receive an SMS directly from Nigerian Institute of Medical Research before proceeding to contacting the Consular Section via +1-772-675-6067 or +1-206-319-5952.
3. Applicants without a valid IELTS Result of 8.0 (Overall) but have received SMS after registering for the COVID-19 screening online must make a nonrefundable deposit of 300 Canadian dollars for their Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) computer based test as substitute for the IELTS which they (E-Visa applicants) would be required to undertake 5-10 days upon arrival in Canada.
4. Please note that the service of E-Visa is a special one that does not lean on the routine activities of the Nigeria Embassy, Ottawa. For visas approval, you are hereby advised to contact the Consular Office for the certification and endorsement of your passports via +1-772-675-6067 or +1-206-319-5952, that is, those who have fulfilled all the necessary requirements. Ensure your IELTS result and all passports are ready and handy before reaching out to the Consular Office.
5. Applicants who submitted their passports bio-data pages before and after the 31st day of December, 2020 without IELTS result and are above 18 MUST make a deposit of the said 300 Canadian Dollars for PTE as substitute for the IELTS before their certification, endorsement and visa approval can be effected. Such applicants must be prepared to sit for the computer based test between 5 to 10 days upon arrival in Canada before resumption of all official duties.
6. The Nigeria Ministry of Foreign Affairs is entrusted with the responsibility of the airplane tickets of her nationals whose E-Visas Approvals follow after the payment of the PTE and COVID-19 screening registration.
7. Late applications are granted consideration. However, those who have the requirements and are willing to sit for the PTE test upon arrival in Canada can send their requisite credentials to [email protected]. The passport bio-data page is requisite.
Note: Please, Do NOT call the Embassy for certification if you do not have the quoted 300 Canadian Dollars designated for the Applicants' compulsory PTE Academic test or willing to cooperate with Presidential Task Force for COVID-19, or the Nigerian Center for Disease Control travel protocols.
