Five Major Keys to binding the strongman:
1. Fasting
2. Prayer
3. Submission
4. Resistance
5. God's Word

Who is the strong man? How does one identify the strong man?

The Strong Man

The strong man is one who controls a stronghold—a place or territory under his influence. This territory is heavily fortified and impregnable.

It is important for us to see things the way they really are and not the way they appear to be. The Scripture says, “Through faith, we understand that the worlds were formed by the word of God so that things which are seen were not made of things which so appear” (Heb. 11:3).

We can conclude from the above scripture that there is not only one world. The Scripture says worlds. There is a spiritual world and a physical world, and we need to understand that things that are seen are a manifestation of things that cannot be seen. If we are going to be able to identify the strong man, then we should be able to look at some things which are seen (physical things and conditions) and through these things perceive things that are not seen. The word perceive has to do with the operations of our spirit man—and this goes beyond the realm of the senses. You perceive by faith, and faith goes beyond the realm of the senses.

The Scripture says, “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Heb. 11:1).

Friend, the only way to identify things that cannot be seen is by faith. The apostle Paul, in 2 Corinthians 4:18 said, “While we look not at the things which are seen: for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.”

There is a way to locate things that are not seen. It is through the laws of faith. Faith is absolute dependence and reliance on the Word of God.

Our Lord Jesus Christ, after rebuking Thomas for his attitude of unbelief, said to him, “Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen and yet have believed” (John 20:29). There is blessedness in believing without seeing.

The strong man is a satanic personality in charge or responsible for a stronghold. The Scripture says, “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds” (2 Cor. 10:4).

A strong man is a fortified entity that Satan builds to exalt himself against the knowledge and plans of God. Satan always tries to operate under the cover of darkness. The only thing that exposes him is the light of God’s Word. The revelation and illumination that come through the Word of God are what expose Satan’s strongholds.

It should be realized that as long as Satan’s strongholds remain concealed, the strong man is safe—and he can operate without being identified. As soon as the strong man is identified, half of the victory is established. That is why identifying the strong man is of absolute importance.

A strong man may have other evil spirits operating under his domain or authority, but the strong man is the ruling spirit.

Dealing with one of the sub-spirits (if I may call them such), does not solve the problem. The strong man must be bound.

For example, bitterness is a ruling spirit, and under its domain of authority are at least seven other spirits, namely:

• Resentment

• Hatred

• Murder

• Un-forgiveness

• Temper

• Violence

• Anger

Binding any of the sub-spirits does not solve the problem of bitterness in the life of a person bound by that spirit. Once the ruling spirit of bitterness has been identified and dealt with, the other sub-spirits can be expelled with ease.

Prayer: Father, I ask that the eyes of my understanding be enlightened to the truth of Your word. I thank you that the weapons that you have given me are not carnal but are mighty to the pulling down of strongholds. I enforce the victory of the blood of Jesus as I arrest and pull down the ruling spirit over my life. I decree that all chains of bo***ge are broken, and I am free in Jesus’

"That's A Wound"
If we conceal our wounds out of fear and shame,
our inner darkness can neither be illuminated
nor become a light for others.

—Brennan Manning
If you are asking Father God to heal you, you first have to know something is broken. So let us take you through a heart check.

When you have to be perfect to approve of yourself . . .
that’s a wound.
When you can’t let anyone know you are hurting . . .
that’s a wound.
When you avoid anger at all cost . . .
that’s a wound.
When you have been anxious for as long as you can remember . . .
that’s a wound.
If you always have
to keep the peace, be right in order to be okay with yourself,
be in control of your environment so you can rest . . .
that’s a wound.
It’s a wound if you
can’t say no, constantly compare yourself to others and fall short,
are afraid to raise your hand even when you know the answer,
stuff negative emotions or don’t really feel much anyway,
can’t trust others because they may disappoint you or reject
you.
If you lie when it would be easier to just tell the truth,
can’t stand change, are hypervigilant and can read a room as
soon as you walk in, have difficulty making decisions or finishing projects . . .
any of those are wounds.

You’ve got a wound if you
need people to like you,
can’t stand to have anyone mad at you,
can’t disappoint anyone,
believe enmeshment is closeness,
have difficulty asking for what you want or sharing your
opinions,
worry about what others think of you.

If you are super responsible, so that everyone counts on you,
or you are super irresponsible, and nobody can trust your word . . .
you have a wound.

If you don’t take anyone or anything seriously . . .
If you won’t tell anyone you are angry or hurt . . .
If you feel empty or alone even when you are with people . . .
that’s a wound.

Many times you may think, “That’s just the way I am,” but it points to something deeper. Something in your past—especially in your childhood and the family system you grew up in—created these wounds.

One of our clients recently said, “I thought I had a good childhood until Tuesday.” (It was only the second day of a five-day intensive counseling session). When God opens the story of our past, he says, “It matters.” It matters because it’s true, whether we want to look at it or not. And when we partner with God to really see the child within each of us and own our story, Jesus will do what he set out to do from the beginning: heal the brokenhearted and set the captives free.

Prayer

Father, you know me—every part of me. There are many things inside me that I have not understood. I haven’t always known the “why” behind many of my thoughts, feelings, or actions. I haven’t wanted to open up all the baggage from my past to put the pieces together. There are things in my life I have never told anyone—things better not remembered or addressed. At least, that is what I hoped when I buried them.

If I successfully stuffed those memories for this long, wouldn’t it be best if I just kept it that way? I guess that’s a no, right? And of course, you know everything and you still love me. Maybe with your help I could pull back the covers and find more of whom you made me to be. So I’m willing to do it—even though I’m scared. Thank you, Abba, that there is nothing in my past, present, or future that could make you love me less. Nothing. Nothing.

Testimonial

“I attended Paul and Tracey‘s ministry, seeking healing and restoration from a life’s worth of hurts and tribulations.
I was greeted warmly and lovingly, given a safe space to share my innermost hurts, experiences and feelings. They provided an atmosphere free of judgement and condemnation, providing nothing but compassion, understanding and the love of Christ.

Throughout my counselling, I felt free to lay out the good, the bad and the ugly without any fear of judgement. Paul and Tracey were extremely thorough and walked me through healing and deliverance from everything the enemy had tried to keep me captive to for years.

Thanks to their ministry and their sensitivity to how the Spirit leads, I am walking in freedom and forgiveness! Thank you Jesus! And thank you Paul and Tracey!!”

****************Testimonial******

Having come to the Lord late in life, I brought, a lot of memories that were counter productive in my relationship with my Lord Jesus. Finally, one night I said to the Lord that I wanted to be free of all these negative strongholds that were stealing my peace and my joy. I only wanted one godly stronghold and that stronghold is called Jesus.

About three weeks later God answered my prayer by introducing me to this ministry. I enrolled and went through the steps to freedom from the enemy’s harassment. If you are ready to repent of all the past events that have been do***ng you, I recommend YWG ministries. Paul and Tracey are compassionate and caring ministry leaders who have the experience and resources to lead someone to freedom in Christ.

Always remember that the Lord knows all but wants us to shine the
light on these events, to prevent the enemy’s constant harassment in our lives. Thank you, Jesus, for YWG Prayer Ministry Ottawa

Three Levels of Demonic Influence

Level One: Oppression
The first level of demonic influence is the most common among believers. Being a Christian means that we are part of a spiritual conflict or war, and we must realize that we will experience demonic resistance as we try to obey God on earth.
Oppression involves greater demonic influence than just being tempted.

Level Two: Torment
The tormented person is under such demonic influence that they may not be able to pray, worship, or read the Word of God. In most cases of torment, the person has experienced some deep form of spiritual, physical, verbal, or emotional trauma and is in need of the prayer and ministry of others in order for the strongholds to be broken.

Level Three: Domination
The person under the third level of demonic influence has never accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior, and the enemy is in total domination of their mind.

A psalm of thanksgiving.
Shout joyfully to Adonai, all the earth!
2 Serve Adonai with gladness.
Come before His presence with joyful singing.
3 Know that Adonai, He is God.
It is He who has made us, and we are His.
We are His people, the sheep of His pasture.
4 Enter His gates with thanksgiving
and His courts with praise!
Praise Him, bless His Name.
5 For Adonai is good.
His lovingkindness endures forever,
and His faithfulness to all generations. Psalm 100
