One of the major things I was elected to do was support our natural environment.
I met with Susie from Greenpeace to talk about Australia’s emissions, to hear more about their work supporting our environment and add the voices of Melbourne to the conversation.
Our Government has achieved great things with changes to the EPBC Act and creating our first National EPA and I’ll keep speaking up for pro-environment policy.

It was nice to talk to so many of you this weekend about what Labor governments are delivering.

Research shows deeply concerning rates of family, domestic and sexual violence experienced within LGBTQIA+ communities. Behind every statistic is a person who deserved to feel safe, believed and supported.
That’s why the work of the LGBTQ Domestic Violence Awareness Foundation is so important. This movement exists because advocates refused to let victim-survivors be invisible.
Thank you to the Foundation for hosting an event at Parliament House this week.
The Albanese Labor Government is committed to ensuring LGBTQIA+ communities are not an afterthought in the national conversation about ending violence.
Through the National Plan to End Violence Against Women and Children, we are working to ensure services are safe, inclusive and accessible for LGBTQIA+ communities.

A fair go for young people - that’s what the Federal Budget is about.

📚Happy Public Education Day!📚
Today, we celebrate the power of public education; a foundation that opens doors, builds communities, and creates opportunities for everyone. Public schools are more than classrooms; they are places where curiosity grows, friendships form, and future leaders begin their journey.
A huge thank you to the dedicated teachers, support staff, families, and students at the fantastic public schools in our electorate. Your passion and commitment will shape brighter futures for generations to come.

Last night the facade of our Parliament House was illuminated with Numbat Night (2024) by Walmajarri artist John Prince Siddon, marking the beginning of National Reconciliation Week.
Born in Derby and now based in Broome, Siddon’s work reflects deep cultural connections across the West Kimberley and serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of truth-telling, respect and reconciliation.
A beautiful celebration of First Nations culture, storytelling and identity projected onto the people’s house.
