The tragic events at CFB Wainwright are a heartbreaking reminder of how quickly an emergency can unfold, and the dangers faced by those involved. On behalf of Flagstaff Regional Emergency Services Society, we want to extend our deepest condolences to the families, friends, and colleagues of those who lost their lives. Our thoughts are also with everyone who was injured or affected by this tragedy.
We also want to recognize the tremendous efforts of the firefighters, emergency medical personnel, military members, health care providers and all first responders who worked under extremely difficult and dangerous conditions. As a neighboring regional emergency service, we were prepared to provide assistance and resources should the need have arisen. While our assistance was not required, our thoughts remained with those responding and the challenges they faced.
Tragedies like this remind us of the importance of cooperation and mutual support within the emergency services community. They also highlight the courage, dedication, and professionalism of those who step forward to help others, often putting their own safety at risk. Their efforts deserve our sincere appreciation and respect.
