Growing with Canada 🇨🇦 Our mandate was specific and clear – to support immigrants and their families.

Our history, as a non-profit community-based organization, dates back to 1973 when we emerged as Polish Immigrant Aid Services-Toronto (PIAST) to respond to the needs of the local Polish community. In 1993, to keep up with the growing demand of servicing these groups, PIAST merged with Polish Community Social Services (PCSS) under the name of Polish Immigrant and Community Services. Polycultural at the Peel Summer Homelessness Collaboration Event

Our Polycultural management team was pleased to attend the Peel Summer Homelessness Information Sharing and Collaboration session on May 25, 2026.

A sincere thank you to the Region of Peel for bringing together service providers and partners to strengthen collaboration and collective impact in addressing homelessness in our communities. We found the presentations on the Brampton HART Hub, Women Veterans, and Income and Social Supports both insightful and inspiring, highlighting innovative approaches and critical supports that make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.

Events like this reinforce the importance of cross-sector collaboration, knowledge sharing, and coordinated responses to better serve individuals experiencing or at risk of homelessness. We look forward to continuing these conversations and strengthening partnerships to support our communities.

Meet Nita: Front-Row Dancer and Seniors Hub Member.

After losing her driver’s license due to a visual impairment in 2020, Nita was looking for a way to stay active and connected. She needed a community that was both accessible and welcoming.

At Polycultural, Nita found her rhythm again in our line dancing classes. The supportive environment allows her to follow the group’s movements with confidence, boosting her spirit and providing a true sense of belonging.

Today, Nita dances right in the front row, a testament to the inclusive atmosphere created by our staff and her fellow seniors.

Strengthening Collaboration in Peel Region

It was a pleasure for Polycultural to host the Peel Service Delivery Network’s monthly meeting at our Reception House.

This important table continues to bring together dedicated partners to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing the Peel region, explore ways to collaborate more effectively, and advance pilot and research initiatives that benefit the communities we serve.

Led by the Peel Newcomer Strategy Group, an active Local Immigration Partnership (LIP), the network includes valued partners such as Polycultural Immigrant and Community Services, Peel Children's Aid Society, Indus Community Services, Peel Multicultural Council, Community Health Services (PCHS), Caledon Community Services and Neighbourhood Services.

We are proud to be part of this collective effort and to contribute to innovative, coordinated approaches that support newcomers and diverse communities across Peel.

🚨 Hiring: Mortgage Operations Coordinator

📍 Mississauga | 💰 $50,000–$80,000 | Full-time

We’re helping our employer partner hire a highly organized, hands-on operations professional to support a fast-moving private mortgage lending environment.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives on ownership, follow-ups, and turning complex borrower files into clean, up-to-date, actionable portfolios.

What we’re looking for:
You may come from mortgage operations, loan administration, private lending, law clerk/title work, collections, borrower support, bookkeeping, or high-accountability admin coordination.

What you’ll be doing:
• Managing and tracking active mortgage files from A–Z
• Monitoring taxes, insurance, payments, liens, credit issues, and refinance blockers
• Verifying information with third parties (lenders, lawyers, municipalities, insurers, CRA-related contacts)
• Following up persistently with borrowers and stakeholders to resolve issues
• Maintaining clear trackers for risk status, deadlines, and next steps
• Supporting refinance readiness by clearing operational roadblocks

Additional qualifications:
• Extremely organized and detail-focused
• Comfortable making calls and following up consistently
• Strong problem-solving mindset (not just admin work)
• Able to handle sensitive financial information with discretion
• Experience in mortgage ops, lending, legal admin, collections, or similar roles is an asset

💡 This is a high-ownership role where your work directly impacts deal flow, risk management, and refinancing outcomes—no layers, no hiding behind process.
