ANYARE??? ANO BATO???
Anakbayan Toronto joins the calls to hold Sara Duterte accountable for her crimes and to arrest Bato Dela Rosa!
SARA PANAGUTIN! BATO ARESTUHIN!
The Duterte Camp in the Philippine Senate is doing all in their power to delay impeachment from staging a senate ousting to giving a criminal state protection. Marcos Jr. is not free from blame either. We must expose these political dynasties and their cronies for their deliberate failures to serve the people, from stealing funds to murder!
Hold both the Dutertes and the Marcoses accountable! Hand over Bato Dela Rosa to the International Criminal Court!
As Filipino youth in the diaspora, we know how embarrassing the government, the system, and the people who run it are. Can you believe these guys are the reason our families leave the Philippines to look for better lives?
Let’s be the ones to fight for our futures!

DEFEND NEGROS! HUSTISYA PARA SA NEGROS 19!
Anakbayan Toronto invites you to a community vigil this Thursday, April 30th at 6PM in front of the Philippine Consulate to demand justice for the 19 lives lost and over 600 displaced by the Armed Forces of the Philippines’ brutal attack on the communities of Negros Occidental.
As overseas Filipino youth, we must fight back against the state’s brutal militarization of rural communities, which only serves to protect the wealthy’s economic interest to plunder our land!
Please wear black.

Anakbayan Toronto vehemently opposes the brutal attack on Negros Occidental that took place on April 19th which have left 19 civilians dead, and over 600 innocents displaced from their homes.
Among those killed were student leader Alyssa Alano and people’s journalist RJ Ledesma. RJ and Alyssa dedicated their lives to struggling for a better, brighter tomorrow for all Filipinos, both back home and those forced to migrate around the world. Their devotion to the people lives on in every single Filipino youth that joins the fight for national democracy and land reform in the Philippines by immersing themselves with the toiling masses.
As Filipino youth in so-called Toronto, we feel deeply connected to the youth activists who have lost their lives. It is our responsibility to put an end to Canada’s complicity in the US-backed Marcos-Duterte regime. To take a stand against the Carney government’s enthusiastic participation in this year’s Balikatan war games, which are just a piece of the brutal military machinery that killed RJ, Alyssa, and the thousands of others who have lost their lives to extrajudicial killings by the Philippine state.
CANADA OUT OF THE PHILIPPINES!
Reject and resist the US-Marcos-Duterte regime!
Justice for Alyssa Alano!
Justice for RJ Ledesma!
Defend Negros!

Please join us for the protest against the world’s largest Mining Convention, PDAC - Prospector’s and Developer’s Association of Canada with
📆 Sunday, March 1
📍Simcoe Park
Like many other countries, the Philippines is not underdeveloped, it is overexploited! As Filipinos and allies in Canada, we know that Canada’s investment in the Philippines’ Mining Industry is not for the interest of the people, as the mining often leads to environmental plunder, community destruction, and the worsening of climate change impacts, such as the disastrous typhoon Tino and Uwan just last fall.
Since August last year, residents and land defenders of Dupax del Norte in Nueva Vizcaya have been leading anti-mining protests against Woggle. We must tand with our kababayans, knowing our struggles are intrinsically linked with theirs!
Please DM us for more details!
Defend the Land Defenders!
No to Mining!
No to Corruption!
Respect Indigenous Peoples Rights!

Last month we hosted a screening of EDJOP, a film about Edgar Joseph (Edjop), a student activist during Marcos Sr.’s fascist regime that left a legacy on the revolutionary history of the Philippines. Today 40 years ago in 1986, EDSA People Power I occured, before Edjop could see the fruits of the people’s struggle unite into the ousting of Marcos Sr.
Remembering EDSA People Power I reminds us that change is not made by the individual, but by those who choose to organize and mobilize for change! Join us in the struggle, join Anakbayan!
Want to get organized? Ask us about our current initiatives such as joining our contingent in MISN’s The Future is Landback Rally against PDAC this Sunday, March 1 and CFSON’s Hands Off Our Education Rally on Wednesday, March 4!

Anakbayan Toronto vehemently condemns the House of Representatives’ decision to dismiss the impeachment complaints against Ferdinand Marcos Jr. under the guise of “insufficient substance”. Filipinos all over the world are in outrage of the irresponsibility and carelessness of this decision, when it is clear that Marcos approved the budget and false insertions himself, as is required by his role!
This Feb 22-25 is the 40th anniversary of the first EDSA People Power of 1986 - a reminder how people do indeed have power and that there are way more of us than there are of the ruling, exploitative elite! As Filipino youth abroad, we must fight for our futures, for a better future for the Filipino people and all peoples around the world!
Join us at the upcoming EDSA@40 Commemoration!
