Today marks the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.
Yesterday we gathered to honour the 14 women killed on December 6th 1989 at Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal, the 3 women who were killed this year in acts of femicide in Peel Region, the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls in Canada, and all those from marginalized communities who have been killed in an act of gender-based violence but made invisible in our society.
Thank you to everyone who came out to attend and support the event. Your presence, support and solidarity are truly appreciated.

43 Femicides took place in Ontario since November 2024.
That is 43 women and children that have been killed in an act of gender-based violence.
These women deserved safety. Their families, friends and communities should not have to bear the unimaginable grief that comes with losing a loved one.
Femicide in preventable. We will continue to advocate for the funding, resources and supports we need to ensure that every survivor has access to immediate and comprehensive supports.
