This year Good Old Neon put our hearts, minds, and bodies into our entirely self-produced production, Dead Elephants. The Doras are a weird and wacky thing.
Did you know that the INDIE category consists of all productions that have a budget of under $125,000 or a venue with 150 seats or fewer?
Did you know that we paid for our production entirely out of pocket and did the entire thing on $15,000?
We are very proud of what we made and while we are very proud of our colleagues who have been nominated, we also want to see Indie companies like ours who are making theatre on love and a dream getting recognition for some pretty radical art.
If you saw Dead Elephants and think it is deserving, please vote for us for the Jon Kaplan Audience Choice Award. It would mean the world to our whole team!

From Coney Island to France and back again time blends, bends and breaks in this new play. In 1903, an elephant named Topsy was publicly electrocuted in Coney Island. This spectacle produced the first video recording of a being crossing from life into death. Dead Elephants asks what it is to grieve, to let go and ultimately to be changed.
