Parking lots can provide cut-throughs especially if they have pedestrian exits to nearby streets. This one goes from Roehampton to Eglinton west of Redpath
I walk my dog and think about pedestrian infrastructure

Did you know there is a cut-through from Keewatin to the parkette at the top of Redpath?

One of Charlie and my favourites runs between Soudan and Hillsdale behind the storefronts on Yonge (east side)

There are nice cut-throughs between Helendale and Orchard View on either side of the Northern District Library.

A major cut-through southeast of Yonge and Eglinton from Holly to Duplex. All private land and the last leg, through from Yonge through the TTC properties is probably not allowed. The signage is confusing but it does say "Pedestrian Walkway to Duplex Avenue" so I have started to use it.

This cut-through in Davisville-Village runs south from Belsize at Tullis to Millwood. This neighbourhood has long east-west blocks with few opportunities to get north or south so cut-throughs are important to allow pedestrians to get somewhere without having to take a long detour. Pedestrians can continue south from Millwood to Davisville through the Meighan retirement complex but it is private land and not clear if we are welcome.

The idea for this page came about when I noticed that one of my favourite pedestrian cut-throughs was being closed. It is the narrow passage that goes from Bloor to Cumberland near Avenue Rd.
I posted a picture of a doorway being installed and few days later the work was complete and the door was locked.
Many pedestrian cut-throughs are private and can be closed at the whim of the property owner so let's document them while they are still around.
