PRESS RELEASE:
We are sad to announce that our long-time Fire Chief, Les Paul has resigned from his role on the Fox Creek Volunteer Fire Department.

Council has appointed Captain Shawn Watson to the position of Fire Chief effective today.

If you see either of them around town, please take a moment to thank Les for his years of service and congratulate Chief Watson on his promotion.

At our practice on Wednesday night, our members wanted to remember the 215 indigenous children who were found near Kamloops, BC. It was decided that we would do wall planks for 215 seconds, in full gear and under pack (2 of the crew were able to make it to 15 minutes!) We have challenged all fire departments in the Northern Peace Region to do the same. Well done crew!!

We would like to congratulate Sr. Firefighter Andrew Tomlinson, recipient of the 2020 Officers Choice award and Firefighter Chase Martineau, recipient of the 2020 Firefighter of the Year award. Both Andrew and Chase are very deserving of these awards, once again congratulations to you both!

Some people have been asking about shooting fireworks in town.
Fireworks are not allowed to be sold or fired within town limits.

Busy day today for the department. A quick motor vehicle incident in the morning and a serious structure fire in the afternoon.
I am very proud of how the crew worked in very cold conditions, equipment and gear freezing up not to mention that wind today.
They worked through it and got it done. Great work crew.

Another successful Stuff a Truck/Cram a Cruiser night, not only did our community fill Engine 1 and the RCMP truck, there were also cash donations totaling $2800.00!!! We would like to thank Freson Bros IGA, the RCMP and the community of Fox Creek for their generous support.

I’d like to say thanks to the members and others that made the pumpkin carving contest continue this year. Thanks for finding a way to get it done.
