ABOUT DEMOCRATS ABROAD UBC
Founded to support American Citizens at The University Of British Columbia Vancouver Campus, our main objectives include:
- Providing information and opportunities to help members of UBC’s community to navigate the absentee voter process whether you are an American citizen who has resided in the U.S. or not.
- Organizing opportunities for activism, primarily through phone banking, campaigning for progressive candidates, and connecting with other on-campus organizations.
- Hosting social gatherings where UBC members can view major political broadcasts, such as debates, elections, State of the Union addresses, Democrats Abroad hosted speaker events, and more!
- Providing a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for constructive and respectful political discussion and debate with an emphasis on current events.
- Acting as a liaison between UBC community members and Democrats Abroad Vancouver, Democrats Abroad Canada, Democrats Abroad, and the Democratic Party.
- Welcoming all UBC community members - regardless of their country of citizenship - to participate, discuss and learn about U.S. politics and the Democratic Party.
