Move Canada Forward was created in 2017 in support of Canada’s progressive values and in direct response to the rise of right-right populism.
Move Canada Forward is a non-profit advocacy organization in support of Canada's commitment to diversity, human rights, individual freedoms, and the pursuit of greater equality and social justice. We believe that Canada is an exceptional country and we're extremely proud of Canada's commitment to diversity, human rights, individual freedoms, and the pursuit of greater equality and social justice.
Canada's progressive values are the reason that our country is now regarded as a beacon of hope in the world. Sadly, however, Canada has not been immune to the effects of the recent wave of right-wing populism and the politics of fear. There's been a troubling increase in the number of hate groups surfacing in Canada. There's also been a noticeable spike in the spread of intolerant rhetoric, misinformation and fear-mongering online. We feel strongly that Canadians need to be vigilant and stand on guard in defence of the progressive values that have allowed us to live in such an open, peaceful and prosperous society. That's why we launched Move Canada Forward. Our aim is to inspire social advocacy and encourage political participation through online engagement that highlights everything that makes Canada the greatest country in the world. At Move Canada Forward, we’re devoted to helping keep our land glorious and free.
