Three weeks is enough time to sharpen what you already have. It is not enough time to build something new. Drill what works, cut weight sensibly, show up.

Which division are you in?

Brackets are built on three things: belt, age, weight.

BELTS — Every belt rank, white through black. Double elimination, so everyone gets at least two matches.
AGE — Kids and teens by age, split boys and girls (11-and-under may merge if a division is thin). Adults 18+.
WEIGHT — One weigh-in at the venue before your first match. No allowance, except 1 lb for 13 and under. Kids weigh in with the gi.
GI / NO-GI — Both. Enter one, add the other at no extra cost.

WHEN — Saturday, November 7. Doors 8:15 AM, first matches 9:00 sharp.
WHO — Adults and kids, same day, same roof. Every belt, every weight class.
BRING — Photo ID and your MCSC licence. No licence, no mat.
SPECTATORS — $10. Under 10 free.

You check in, you make weight, you get your bracket. That's the whole morning. Get there early and the rest of the day is just jiu-jitsu.

The gym is where you build it. A bracket is where you find out. Same jiu-jitsu, against someone who never agreed to help you.

You learn more about your game in one competition match than in a month of rounds with people who already know your setups.

Win or lose, you leave knowing something true.

One day. Adults and kids under the same roof, every belt, every weight class — nobody sits a weekend out waiting for their turn.

A bracket doesn't care how training went this month. That's the point of entering one.

Early bird runs until September 30 at $110. After that it goes to $125, then $150 in the last week.

One more thing, and it matters more than the price: the MCSC will not let an unlicensed athlete compete. Sort your licence now, not in November.

Never competed? Here's exactly how a tournament day goes. No mystery.

You weigh in. You get your bracket — matched by belt, age, and weight, so it's fair. You compete: a few matches, back to back. Then you're done.

That's the whole thing. The hardest part is signing up. Everything after it is just jiu-jitsu — the same thing you do in the gym, with a medal on the line.
