Chapter 1.
The Mysterious call

Emily a young and ambitious journalist living in the small town of Willow Creek. Emily works for the local newspaper, where she spends most of her days investigating and writing about the town's latest news.
One day, while working on a story, Emily stumbles upon a cryptic message with the phone number (567)890-1234. Curious she decides to call the number.
As the phone rings, Emily's heart beats faster with anticipation suddenly, a low, mysterious voice answers:
"Welcome, Emily. We've been expecting you."
Emily's mind start racing. Who is this person? How do they know my name?
As she listens to the voice on the other end, Emily realizes that this phone call might be the start of a much bigger story. One that could change her life forever. Emily's curiosity is piqued "who is this?" She demands, trying to keep her voice steady.
The Mysterious voice chuckles " All in good time, Emily. For now let's just say that we have information about a story that's been hidden in Willow Creek for far too long.
Emily's journalist instinct kicks in. She grabs her notebook and pen, ready to take notes. " What kind of story?" She presses. The voice pauses, and Emily wonders if she's lost the connection but then the voice continues, "meet me at the old oak tree in Riverview park at midnight. Come alone."
The line goes dead, and Emily is left staring at her phone, wondering what she's gotten herself into.

I haven't finished my statement before my uncle gave me a dazzling slap across my face which landed me to the ground. "Are you the one that will dictate to me what I do or not? I said I can't afford to send you to school, you are here telling me about your parents asset. Are you out of your senses? But uncle it's unfair ooo why don't you want to send me to school I queried? My friends will make jest of me and I don't want to be a drop out. Please uncle whatever it may take you even if it will cost you my parents wealth please let me continue my education. "Tiwalola are you crazy? Who are you to query your uncle or talk back at him? Do you think you are in your father's house? If my husband refuse to send you to school so you can continue your education who are you to banter words with him? I'm sorry ma I never mean to do that it's just that uncle promise to send me to school in front of the family he doesn't want to fulfill that promise it's unfair. I left my uncle's side with a heavy heart, I was so disappointed because my uncle just broke his promise. Not knowing that's the beginning of my misery life.

The next morning, my aunty barged into my room angrily dragging me out of the bed with force, "are you not supposed to be awake by now? Or do you think you are still in your father's house huh? Will you common take that lazy ass of yours out of that bed now and do your house chores". I was so disappointed and sad at the same time sad I quickly obeyed her and left the room out of fear not knowing what will happen if I wait a little longer. I met my uncle and his wife sitting in the living room discussing, I greeted them but they ignored me as if I'm a ghost or I'm invisible to them I was about leaving when my uncle drop the bombshell " Tiwalola as from now henceforth there is nothing like school for you in this house again because I don't have the money to send you to school". But sir what about the money in my parents accounts? I asked my uncle did not let me finish my statement before he gave me a slap across my face which landed me to the ground.

Chapter 1
I've been living my life in misery with my father's elder brother and his wife who never treated me well. Before I continue, let me quickly introduce myself and how the journey of my life began.
My name is Tiwalola, I came from a very wealthy family, I'm the only child of my parent named Mr & Mrs Adeyemi. My dad is a business man while my mum is a medical doctor, there is peace and joy in my family but it didn't last long. I lost my parent in a plane crash when I was in primary three then I was seven years of age. But before my parents died my dad went to see his lawyer and willed his property to me which will take effect when I clock twenty years. The death of my parents took a great impact in my life because it was so painful but I have no other choice than to accept it as my fate. My parents were buried two weeks after their death, all the family, both from my father's and mother's side came over to have a meeting on what to do about me, who will take care of me so I can continue with my education. My father's elder brother (Mr Paul) said he will take me to his house and also sponsor my education, I was so happy at last I won't be a drop out. My uncle took me to his house and showed me the room I will be sleeping in I was so happy never knew that's the beginning of my misery life.

Chapter 3
After a long time, she took a deep breath and said, "I'll marry him, but on the condition that you return my mother's day dowry to me!"
He, a business man who only cared about profit, was not worthy of the antiques and calligraphy his grandmother had collected.
" If you can stay by Mo Tingxiao sides, I'll send those things to you. But if you're sent back, don't even think about getting anything! And as for the shares of the Ji family don't even dream of touching a single penny."
Ji Mian sneered in her heart. Her grandmother had 20% stake in the Ji family, which was later transferred to her mother's name. After her mother died, Ji jianming managed it on her behalf. Now he wanted to use those antiques and calligraphy to dismiss her. He was really counting his chicken they hatched.
But she didn't have the ability to confront her father yet, she needed to think carefully about how to get those shares back. She couldn't be too hasty.

An hour later, the black Rolls-Royce stopped in front of a mansion.
The butler had already received a phone call and was waiting at the gate. When he saw the ugly birthmark on Ji Mian's face, he hesitated for a moment, but quickly regained his smile.
" Miss Ji, please come in."
The iron gate slowly opened and Ji Mian took a deep breath and walked towards the mansion.
Halfway through, Ji Mian couldn't help but turn her head and ask the butler who was half step behind her, "what's the temperament of your young master?"
The butler seemed surprise by her question and took a few seconds to answer, "you will know when you meet him, miss Ji".
At these words, Ji Mian paused and looked surprised. " Your young master isn't here?"
"He got something to do and will be back later".
"Oh I see."
Ji Mian breathed a sigh of relief. She had been through so much today that she needed sometime to catch her breath, and not having a deal with Mo Tingxiao for the time being was a welcome respite.
Since they didn't know Mo Tingxiao attitude, the butler arranged a guest room for Ji Mian.
Even though it was just a guest room, it was much more exquisite than the room she had stayed in at the Ji family's house. Ji Mian put her clothes in the wardrobe and sat in front of the dressing table, using a key to open the wooden box in her hand.
Inside the box lay a piece of jade, quietly resting. Under the bright light, the jade was almost transparent, and one could vaguely see a sw****ka symbol engraved on it, emitting a faint golden light.

This is the jade that her mother left her, which she had been carefully guarding and not let anyone discover.
After wiping it clean, Ji Mian carefully put the jade back into the box, locked it, and placed it at the bottom of the dressing table, covered with cosmetics.
After doing alright this, Ji Mian opened her computer and began to write her resignation letter.
Just thinking about Shen yanqing made Ji Mian's heart ache uncontrollably. She and Shen yanqing were college classmate. After graduation Shen yanqing started a law firm and she had been working there to be close to him. At the party yesterday, she gathered the courage to confess to her crush of ten years, and they had just confirmed their relationship.
But last night, Ji Mian felt as if her heart was being cut by a knife!
Ji Mian cried as she wrote, and it took her more than three hours to finish the resignation letter of just a few hundred words.
After throwing away her phone card and deleting all of Shen yanqing's contact information, it was already late at night.
Ji Mian wiped away her tears and went to bed, turning off the lights.

In the early morning, Mo Tingxiao went straight to the sturdy after returning to the mansion.
His marriage to the daughter of the Ji family was arranged by his grandmother, and he was not aware of it until today.
Moreover, last night he he fell into a trap set by the other party and ruined the innocence of an Innocent girl. He had promised that girl that he would marry her.
"So Miss Ji, if you're smart, you'd better leave on your own, he said."
Mo Tingxiao leaned back in his chair, his eyes slightly closed, a hint of exhaustion on his face.

Chapter 1
" Be good, be my antidote," the man's low and hoarse voice sounded above her head, his hot breath sweeping over her.
Startled and angry, Ji Mian widened her eyes and tried to push away the heat source on top of her with all her strength. But her wrist was tightly grasped by the man, and then a wave of heat swept over her.
After a night of passion, when the first ray of light shone into the room in the morning, Ji Mian moved her body and the thin blanket slipped off her, revealing ambiguous red marks on her originally fair skin. Seeing the messy sheets and scattered clothes on the ground, she finally realized what had happened.
Forced by her father's request, she had signed a contract with Mr Wang at the hotel yesterday. But just as she walked to the door of the room, she was dragged in!.
Thinking of the madness of last night, Ji Mian felt a pain in her heart. She didn't even bother to look at the man on the bed and hurriedly packed up her clothes and scattered things on the ground before leaving.
Not long after the woman left, a private helicopter was slowly descending over the hotel. The door opened and more than a dozen men in black suits and sunglasses jumped out. The group looked serious and quickly arrived at the hotel room door.
Pushing open the door, the man in a silver mask with his back to them stood in the front of the French window.
The leader of the black-clad men walked up and said, " Boss Mo, this is the clue we found".
Mo Tingxiao turned around and took the photo handed to him by the man.
The photo was black and white, taken twenty years ago.
Although the circular jade in the photo was not very clear, Mo Tingxiao still notice a faint sw****ka symbol on it. Almost instantly, he confirmed that this was the jade he had been searching for over a decade! This jade was intricately linked to his mother's death, and only by finding it could he uncover the truth behind her mysterious death.
Last night, he had heard news of the jade and hastily returned to the country little did he know that he had fallen into a trap.
Thinking of the woman from last night, Mo Tingxiao eyes softened slightly as he said in a deep voice, "find out the whereabouts of this jade at all costs".
" Yes sir".
"Did the surveillance capture the girl who was in my room last night?"
"No"
A coldness flashed in Mo Tingxiao's eyes. The pendant he had worn since he was a child had disappeared after he woke up, and it was most likely taken by that girl.
" Continue the investigation! Including the surveillance around the hotel! And my pendant, it's probably on her".
" Yes sir they all chorused"

In the taxi on the way back to the Ji family, Ji Mian was fixing her hair when she noticed that the ugly birthmark on her face, which she had covered up with makeup had disappeared. She was so scared that her face turned pale, and she quickly reapplied the makeup.
Half an hour later, as soon as Ji Mian walked in the door she was met with a hard slap across her face!
"Waste! Look at what you've done!".
Ji Mian fell to the ground, holding her face in disbelief as she looked at Ji jianming ( her father).
She never expected to be greeted with a slap from him as soon as she got home, nor did she notice that a black pendant had fallen out of her bag.
Ji jianming looked fierce and disgusted, as if he was looking at garbage.
" Do you know how important that investment from Mr Wang is for me? How dare you stand him up and go fooling around yourself!".
Ji Mian eyes gradually turned red with grievance. "Dad do you know what happened to me last night?"
Seeing the love marks on Ji Mian's neck, Ji jianming became even more angry and slapped her again.
" You are useless! If I had known you were so promiscuous, I would have just drugged you and send you to Mr Wang! Now because of you, the cooperation between Ji's family and Mr Wang has fallen through"
Ji Mian couldn't believe it and stared at Ji jianming
" You asked me to deliver the contract to Mr Wang last night just to have me sleep with him?".
Ji jianming sneered, "What else? Do you think you have any other use? Do you really think I will let you into the company? I advise you to give up on that idea! Ji's family belong to Weiwei"
A chill spread from the depths of Ji Mian's heart to her limbs. Stared at Ji jianming, her eyes almost bleeding.
" Why? Ji Weiwei and I are both your daughters. You've always been baised, but now you are sending me to bed with investors. Are you even human?"
As soon as the words were spoken, she received another slap on her face " shut up! How dare you compare yourself to Weiwei? Weiwei has always been obedient and innocent since she was a child, but you? So vicious you even ruined my good plan. If it weren't for your usefulness, I would have killed you!".
Seeing the calculation in Ji jianming eyes, Ji Mianxin's heart turned cold.
" What else do you want to do to me? She asked.
" The people from the Mo family will come soon. You better keep your deflowering a secret for me. If the Mo family finds out, I won't spare you! Pack up and get ready to marry Mo Tingxiao".
" What did you say?" Ji Mian widened her eyes in disbelief. Mo Tingxiao was the eldest son of the Mo family. Three years ago, he was disfigured in a car accident and his temperament became unpredictable since then. It was rumored that he was cruel and brutal. A wealthy family's daughter once publicly called him a waste and that family disappeared overnight in Rong city. The woman was also nowhere to be found.
Initially, it was Weiwei that Mo Tai Tai valued. How could she suddenly change her mind?.
" I won't marry him! The one who is engaged to Mo Tingxiao is Ji Weiwei. Let her marry you."
Ji jianming seems to have expected her refusal long ago and sneered calmly saying, " if it weren't for Mo Tai Tai specifically asking for you to marry him, do you think you would have a chance?"
" If you don't marry him, I will immediately have the hospital cut off your grandmother's oxygen tank".
Ji Mian was so angry that her body was trembling with rage at his shameless behavior. The first sum of money Ji jianming used to start his business came from his grandmother. Without her, he wouldn't have everything he had today. Now he was capable of doing such a thing. Ji Mian clenched her fist tightly, and the anger and hatred in her eyes were like a ranging fire, burning everything to ashes.
